Default Berk HFC/CBE Combo - Rattling Noise

I installed the Berk CBE one year ago in April 2013. I just installed the Berk HFC's this past Sunday 4/13/14.

Upon start up right after installation, I noticed severe vibration and noise coming from underneath the car. Upon further inspection, the Mid Pipe was was barely resting on the Cross Member. I adjusted the Mid Pipe so there was additional clearance from the Cross Member. Started her up and all was good with the world.

Man, these these things are off the charts. The sound, acceleration and pull is fantastic. I'm really impressed with this setup.

So flash forward to today. I start up the Z and I could hear a slight ringing. I gave it some gas and the vibration was back. I took it out for a little drive and the vibration noise was back in full force. It was there upon acceleration or deceleration, not so much when cruising. Once warmed up, the vibration sound disappeared. So it appears this vibration happens when cold.

So I drove it home and took a look underneath again. Everything appeared to be really tight. Clearance from the cross member was sufficient, or at least from what I can see. I checked all the hangers from the Mid Pipe back and again everything was really tight.

I'm perplexed at this point and do not know what could be causing this. Looking for guidance from this forum if anyone else experienced something similar.

I have the exact same issue after installing my berk hfc's! I have an xforce cbe which I got installed at a shop and when I started experiencing the problem I took it back to them and the looked over the system and said that it was the flex pipe that was causing the vibration noise (located right after the hfc's about 20cm onto the x pipes). I got them replaced and got the resonators replaced as well (cos I didn't want to have to go back) which helped soften the vibration noise on cold start but did not fix it!!

Im definitely subscribed to this and hopefully someone has an answer!!

Ok, the vibration noise I was experiencing is now completely gone.

I loosened all bolts from the HFC's back. I had a friend of mine push up on the end of the resonators, just before the cross member, while I tightened the bolts.

That's all it took. No more rattling or vibration noise.

It's now just perfect.

Give this a try and let me know your results.

I know you mentioned that it happened after doing the hfc, but I did my cbe and hfc's at the same time, for weeks had a weird vibrating noise that a few people had NO idea what it was.

After getting underneath the car in my driveway with the car on, there is a tiny heat shield? or tin flap that comes down near the cans on the passenger side, and it was vibrating like hell against the cans, bent it a little bit, and solved the problem.

For those of you who've never looked there, check it out, it might help, or it might not.
