Hmm... Well in the thread linked in the OP there was quite a bit of talk about the resonators being different. I know for a fact the Y-pipe is different.

Hmm...
Well in the thread linked in the OP there was quite a bit of talk about the resonators being different. I know for a fact the Y-pipe is different. The G y-pipe having smaller inlet diameter (1.8" G vs 2" Z). Im having the G coupe exhaust shipped to me fairly cheap so, its worth the experiment.
