So I took the plunge and picked up a used upper intake. I have done some porting in the past, and have all the tools, so I figured why not after reading all the hype. This is basically a clean-up exercise. Not much material to remove just flashing from manufacturing. So I can't expect much gains from doing this. Maybe somewhere in the mid to top end range. Also looking for a lower so I can match the ports where the two meet and polish it and clean up the bumps. Of cause a tune helps at some point.

I tried, I really did try, to read this whole thread but only made it to page 15. Can someone please tell me the bullet points of all this info?
-parts, and how modified -modifind by who? -price? -Hp/Tq increases? I'm not being lazy, I read most of it as I'm interested in doing this to my Nismo. It's just this thread while packed with info is disjointed and hard to get information in a to b to c way. Thanks |
Most of your information is on the first page of this thread. Upper, Lower, TB's. The Hp/Tq have yet to be test individually and together that is a lot of time on the dyno especially with all the other after market parts out there. Syno will tell you about price and there is a core exchange amount once he receives your TB's. When the porter gets your oem lower you will get the other fee. f
Upper 225 Shipped with paypal fees if you send in your core or 545 with 250 refund. Lower 260 Shipped with paypal fees if you send in your core or 460 with 190 refund. TB's 295 Shipped with paypal fees if you send in your core or 485 with 200 refund. Scott will chime in if I missed anything. |

PM me with any questions after you read it. |
So I've decided to pay for a locals uprev license to get this moving along (cheaper than you think :) ). We will be tuning his G37 as is right now with CAI, HFC and CBE. I will then be adding my parts, do a base run to see what they do alone, and tune again. So all of you that have been waiting, wait no longer.
As I thought talking with the tuner these parts WILL show the greatest gains for FI guys! So if 500hp isn't enough then come see me. The tune is setup for November 30th at 3pm at Covert Tuning in Columbus, which by the way, nice cars! Currently 4 TT Lambos sitting around with 100% CNC custom manifolds with integrated BOV's, 4" intake pipes, CNC exhausts, headers etc etc. Stay tuned. https://www.facebook.com/CovertTuningDynamics http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...ps8fef49b3.jpg |

you have to. tuner cant tune unless he knows what to start changing and stuff. he might back off of a base if its knocking or something but a run has to come before anything.

PS, the back to back dynoing for the parts and testing is still going down the 30th. My tune is different even though I have all the same parts but they are already installed and tuned for. We are just checking the tunes health. Tuner was nice enough to discount some of the work. Stay tuned mostly for the 30th though!!!! |
In for updates too... Best wishes dude!!

I want to do this for a GTR. The TB's look identical. Confirm?
