Ehhhh.. I don't know about these. How much air will the intake be able to suck in given it seems completely shielded on the sides and underneath?? Also, this intake still appears that it will suck in hot air from the top....

Am I missing something ... again?

Maybe, the dyno runs show a +16hp gain for the G37. I have also ordered a set and and plan to dyno my car before and after. Now I live in the country and work two jobs so I don't know exactly how soon I can get this done, but I hope to have both runs and the installation done within 2-3 weeks.

I will do my best, but they haven't even shipped yet so I won't even get them until the middle of next week.

O.K. So the black guards seal to the hood and dyno gains show a 16HP increase. That is pretty cool; waiting for independent dyno results.
