A Y pipe with a wider diameter than stock will cause hiss.
I believe the same is true when going to a H or X pipe (other than, I should expect, the OEM Nismo H). Unresonated test pipes will hiss and then rasp on coast down. The only way I know of to avoid it is to keep the Y pipe close to OEM diameter and to have resonated TP's.
