Interest thread: AAM Competition 2.5" Axle Back Exhaust (Muffled)

Khoi, discard this if this question has already been asked but... why don't you guys build a full CBE instead of different composing pieces?

Modularity is the key

It all stemmed from when we first released the short tails, and how everyone wanted to complete the rest of their system but keep the short tails instead of having to sell it and purchase a complete catback. This is when we came up with the midpipe. The midpipe bolts up to the short tails AND the stock muffler, well with either combo you get an extremely loud set up, or a very stock-like set up, no in between. This is where a muffled rear section would come into play.

Also we currently do have a full cbe at the moment, it may or may be discontinued when this muffled section is fully released, that's to be determined

Anything new on this? I'm interested in the midpipe, but worried it would be too loud with the short tails and test pipes...

We have talked to Khoi @ AAM about it.

If you already have the short tails and test pipes, then your car is already a 7 or 8/10 on a sound scale. Even if they are resonated TP's.

The mid-pipe isn't supposed to make the car actually louder, but it frees up more air and the car tends to have more volume/overall catback sound.

Id say the car will go from a 7/10 to an 8/10 with the midpipe.

I find it hard to believe that with a bigger pipeing there won't be a little bit more sound coming out the back..

Videos are welcome. Id like to see more vid with people rocking short tails and TP's haha.

I don't have any exhaust upgrades, yet. But the gains from the midpipe/short tails are compelling. I would prefer for the volume to be lower than that setup with test pipes.

So you just have the midpipe and shorttails?
Can you post a video of it please? A lot of us would really like to hear it!

I'm still stock, just interested in the AAM setup because of the gains. If I decide to get it I get some vids up.

AAM/Khoi - Can we get an update on this? I'm very interested in this as the short tails are just too loud for DD.

What are you wanting an update on?

You can get the midpipe without buying the short tails and you will still see the great gains of freeing up the piping in the middle.
