Hope you got the ART pipes for a 350z DE motor! Have fun with the install!

Sub'd for updates

Anyone know if these would work well with a stillen sc kit? I'm wanting to go FI in a year or so and thinking of getting these to hold me over. I don't want to get them if it doesn't carry over well with a sc.

Joepro 06-09-2013 08:04 PM

Mine are inbound! I cannot see a downside with a SC, if we need more flow NA, you will need more with a SC.

What kind of SC do you have?

diddy535 06-09-2013 08:13 PM

Don't some FI options have problems sustaining boost with higher flow headers?

Joepro 06-09-2013 08:25 PM

I would doubt these would drop the back pressure enough to cause any problems I know many 350z guys ran headers on their SC setups. The real answer is we do not know until someone does it...

diddy535 06-09-2013 08:30 PM

Fair enough I wasn't sure myself, I just thought I had read something on it before but you're totally right. We won't know until we know!

Joepro 06-09-2013 08:37 PM

I am sure someone will beat me to it, I am going to run NA this summer with the headers and then do a GTM kit over winter, that's the plan anyway. I should have the headers in hand Wed, hopefully I have the car back soon, still at the dealer, they haven't touched it yet...

theDreamer 06-10-2013 07:28 AM

I ran F.I. LTH with my stage 1 SC and gained nor lost anything. I would imagine the heat was lower since there was less restriction but I never got a change to measure any real temps on the exhaust side.
Really for an open header-back setup you will need to pair the SC unit with the open exhaust setup. The Stage 1 by GTM really does not benefit nor hurt with it, not sure on the 1.5/2 units.

brucelidat 06-11-2013 12:22 PM

I just got off the phone with z1. They have already ordered the headers and expect them to arrive in 4 weeks. These ones will require 350z cats or TPs to fit though. They have plans to make one with the 370z flange, but it's not for sure yet. IF they do make it happen, it will be several months down the line. Pricing for the headers is $895.

Now the question is if it's worth it to get these if I also have to change out my FI HFCs for the 350z ones. Anyone know how 350z HFCs will fit with FI CBE exhaust?

370Z JT 06-11-2013 01:42 PM

Dang. Don't know if I can't wait that long for the Z34 flange. Decisions, decisions. Lol

brucelidat 06-11-2013 01:46 PM

The z34 flange is planned, but it's not for sure it will happen, he said. The real question is will adding these headers really give me 20whp if I already have HFCs and exhaust since most people have those 2 and probably g3 intakes as well.

They gave me 30 and I already had G3, test pipes and exhaust

They bolt up to any 370z exhaust no problem. Don't cheap out on test pipes cause the Top Speed pipes had a TERRIBLE fitment putting a lot of strain on my entire exhaust system. Swapped the Top speed pipes for Z1 and the Z1 lined up everything perfect. Researching, a lot of the 350z guys had issues with the fitment of the Top Speed pipes too.

brucelidat 06-12-2013 01:53 PM

Planning to swap out my FI HFCs for the z1 350z HFCs when i do the headers. I also have FI CBE, should fit fine right?

You only got 317 whp with the headers? Do you have an exhaust also?

Every dyno reads different and every car perform different. Completely identical mods will not yield you identical results. Even after being tuned by the same tuner. I have all the basic bolt on parts on the car other then pulleys. My sig says it all.

brucelidat 06-12-2013 02:48 PM

yeah I know they're all different, I just figure you'd be a bit higher with everything. Did you have everything done at the same time? If you had things done separately, do you have dyno pulls between to see what each gave you? I am really hoping the headers give me at least 20whp to justify the cost.

What kind of dyno was it? What did you put down with all the bolt ons and then after the retune?

370Z JT 06-12-2013 04:29 PM

What did you put down prior to installing the TP and headers?

I never did a baseline prior to the mods, but our cars usually make around 270-280whp stock.

Mike 06-12-2013 07:02 PM

along with the swap to Z1 350z test pipes, it bolted right up to my exhaust.

SPOHN 06-12-2013 08:21 PM

Track cars make more. It's just there nature.

Joepro 06-13-2013 11:03 AM

mine are scheduled for deliver today! Will be installing them Tuesday as long as I do not end up working while I am at the shop, got the car back yesterday with the new trans, shifts way better than the original, hopefully it stays that way.

brucelidat 06-13-2013 11:52 AM

Are you going to do a dyno before and after?

Joepro 06-13-2013 07:11 PM

Well Z1 emailed today telling me they forgot to inform me when I ordered them that they first batch is gone, a few weeks for the next one...sigh. I did not plan on doing a current run, I am already invested, plus not too many dynos around these sticks, but a guy at work just finished his srt swap in his neon and a local shop wants him to run on the dyno there for publicity(its an american car oriented shop) His tuner put down 516 whp on c16...yikes. He is running low 11 1/4 miles. I might tag a long and embarrass myself on the dyno while he is there haha.

Forgot if I've posted in this thread or not yet. We've got a set on order from Z1's next batch (original order time was beginning of June, ETA was end of June for delivery)

Our customer is going from stock headers + HFC (already tuned, 317 whp) to z1 headers + AAM test pipes + retune

Will post results when everything goes down!

Got word from Chuck today that the next batch of headers will be ready to ship ETA 7/22, he said that ETA is the keyword, does not want to over promise but also trying to be as realistic as possible

We are very excited to get our set!

I'm excited for the results after we get these bad boys on. I'm expecting your best tune ever encompassing all prior experience ;)

binary0x01 06-26-2013 05:27 PM

In for results. Very interested in seeing the numbers.

Will they be flanged to fit the 370, or 350Z TPs?

Resonated, or non-res?

brucelidat 06-27-2013 11:26 PM

They told me the 370z flange version is planned, but not for sure yet and won't be for like 6 months probably.
