Everyone who had momentum headers installed on their 370Z had reported nice gains. I haven't read anyone who were dissatisfied.

Z1 Motorsports 370Z Header Teaser - YouTube

First time I've seen this video. I'm assuming these are the same headers, right?
329 on stock exhaust in pretty incredible.

Megan370z 04-28-2013 07:39 PM

I doubt it very much that Z1 will match the quality of the Momentum header. wait and see.
with all the work involved to make that kind of header, I cant see them selling those momentum copy anything below 1200$
if they do make a special entry price. jump on it I guess....

the only reason why a few of us (not me) managed to get them below 1000$ brand new was that they went out of business.

Mike 04-28-2013 08:16 PM

I got 30 from them.

binary0x01 04-29-2013 02:49 PM

Well in that case i'm in the 'I can't wait to try these out' boat :)

Those are the same headers. Harlem Shake theme was a sign of the times lol. Here is some raw footage stitched together without music. The car sounded very nice with this setup, no rasp at all.

Pause it at 21 seconds for Dyno. They have made even more power using an aftermarket exhaust since this video.

Also I heard on ZAtlanta that Z1 may be bringing a few sets of these headers to Zdayz...

Yutnaka 05-16-2013 09:44 AM

Just got a call from John at Z1. I was first on the list for the headers, but I'll be getting the Momentum headers real soon from one of the members. Call John at Z1 as they have one ready. He said the price was $899.

Is that price for the momentum headers that z1 made?

Joepro 05-16-2013 12:04 PM

I want so bad...need more powar and cannot get a blower till next year...tell those chinese to weld faster!

Megan370z 05-16-2013 12:19 PM

Cant wait to see some details pictures of those Momentum copy ;)

chrischhorn 05-16-2013 02:19 PM

Still waiting for a before and after dyno. I know they released how much power they made with them but never had a baseline dyno and never mentioned if tuned or direct bolt on. Not that it matters to me much since I have actual Momentum headers that I got for under $500 muahahaha.

Z_Enthusiast 05-16-2013 04:35 PM

Just got off the phone with Josh and he said if you can wait they will be doing a preorder in next couple weeks at $845. Expected to be readily available in 5 weeks..

Z_Enthusiast 05-16-2013 04:37 PM

he also said these headers are made by the EXACT same people as the momentums.

still waiting on those picture to verify the quality ... :ugh2:

DarkJak 05-16-2013 05:16 PM

And the million dollar question......
Will these need 350Z DE test pipes or do they match up with 370Z pipes?

diddy535 05-16-2013 05:17 PM

I believe these new ones are supposed to match up to the 370

I'm still wondering this also. You've got to remember, they are going to make a lot of sales with this header being reproduced so they could have left it for the DE also since those guys are still searching for these headers too. Not too mention most of us running the Momentum headers are running Z1 Test pipes also....more money if you need to buy the test pipes too.

Made by the exact same people? I thought Momentum went out of business and they are being reproduced by themselves with the jig they bough from Momentum....Any input Z1?

Yutnaka 05-17-2013 06:28 AM

I am pretty sure that it's made to fit the 370z test pipes. I will be there in about a month to get another dyno tune with my momentum headers, gen 3, and their secret power mod. I will be glad take some pics and post them while I am there.

Not cool...I thought I was the only special one that got Z1 stickers.

Looking forward to numbers!

SPOHN 05-17-2013 10:54 AM

I'm looking right at them now at ZDayz. Looks perfect.

Z_Enthusiast 05-17-2013 01:42 PM

he said same people.. I dunno

Seemed like they were outsourcing the fabrication.

Hahahaha...I may look at getting one of their stickers, but there is an actual mod that only Z1 does that gives about 10whp on typical 370z. Its a secret.

What's that? change the correction factor on the dyno? lol jkjk

Yutnaka 05-25-2013 12:59 PM

Well....looks like I am not getting momentum headers anymore..but, Z1 has more tricks to get more power from NA Z34. Their Shop car is close to 350whp with a single exhaust. I will be doing the waiting game.....

Personally getting a little tired of hearing this about the "Secret" stuff that Z1 is doing to get even more out of an NA motor.

Here's a thought: Just tell us what the secret stuff is. I completely understand if it's just the way they're tuning them (ie timing, fuel maps, etc) that they won't share the specifics but then just tell us it's in the tuning. Otherwise just tell us what it is. If it's a certain combination of parts then just tell us. There are those of us that would be lined up to get that magic combination of parts to make the extra power. Also knowing that they have the ability tune VVEL is that where the power is coming from.

/end rant

I almost know exactly what it is but not positive. It's not parts. It's the rerouting of certain things with tune. You just pay for labor. So course there not going to say anything at all. There shop came up with it. It's there thing. Not to say they don't know a little thing or too in the VVEL department. It all adds up. I'm not going say anything else about it for certain reasons.

Thanks. This is all I really wanted to know. I understand the whole "intellectual property" so I can understand Z1 won't tell us what there doing exactly. Just sucks for those of us that don't live anywhere near Z1. Maybe they should sell instructions on how to do this "magic" for those of us that can't justify taking our Z's that far away.

SPOHN 05-25-2013 02:47 PM

I'll just leave this here for as long as I can.

Wonka2581 05-27-2013 01:18 AM

So what's the secret???? Is it in the tune? Parts?

I'm going crazy here.... Someone anyone????

:-/............

DarkJak 05-27-2013 03:03 AM

"rerouting"

Z1 doesn't want to give it out, which is totally understandable. You could just go get a tune from them and find out.

That's great but not all of us live anywhere near Z1.

DarkJak 05-27-2013 12:47 PM

Wonka does. Chattanooga is right next to the Georgia boundary.
I'm pretty curious too. I think it's possible some other tuners have discovered the same method. I haven't heard about it till now, so it could be a trade secret. Hopefully.

N0SL3N 05-27-2013 01:12 PM

I'd be willing to pay $$ if this secret actually works and can be done yourself. Hell, I'd even sign a NDA so that I cannot tell other people.

cdoxp800 05-27-2013 02:26 PM

Listed on there site now.

Z1 Motorsports VQ Performance Headers

chrischhorn 05-27-2013 02:33 PM

BAM! I win. Still made for the DE motor. You HAVE to purchase a set test pipes or cats from them to bolt to the 370z.

diddy535 05-27-2013 03:11 PM

That sucks I thought they were fixing it to bolt direct.
