And no, I do not plan on getting a tune. We'll see what happens at the dyno, and fortunately my dyno shop is open 24/7 as long as you make an appointment. So I'll go on a day that is very similar in weather as to when I got ran my original dyno runs. |
My graph is on page 23 of this thread, I did 322 whp and 272 tq(yest I rounded up) With the headers as stated before I was expecting 330, because the average non header z tunes in at around 315 as an average from what I have read on th forums. Vince(the tuner) told me they only see higher hp on cars with long tube headers, but my TQ was identical to the Z they pulled 341 whp out of and 272 tq, BUT that Z did not have the M370 which has been said over and over again to lose peak hp and gain tq. Also we do not know the temp when that Z was dynoed, they posted the video on august 1st, the temps were in the high 70's then, and it was raining almost all day when I dynoed- they like to tune in the morning, I was scheduled at 9 but was late due to the colossal rain store and Vince got tied up with and other car, he did not do the final pull till after 1 and it was up in the 80s at that point. If I ditch the M370 and re dyno and achieve 330 or higher, this proves the headers help. also we need some comparisons, who has some non header z graphs that are up rev tuned?
here is mine again: http://www.the370z.com/members/joepr...-rt-tuning.jpg |

ok, I also found this tool- Engine Tuning Calculator - using dew point
I imputed the dyno conditions for my 322 pull, and then the temps in march when it was 64 in the town where I was dynoed, it confirms I would have have about 4.4% more power on the 64 degree day I randomly picked... 322 now becomes (322*1.044) 336... http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/t...psc1480ed9.png http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/t...psd276f951.png |
Z1 header on dyno 370z - YouTube
 stock 370z makes 207whp and 170qtq Baseline without tune made 224whp and 190qtq after tune: 245whp and 203wtq i have made 235whp with greddy tic and berk hfc and k&n short ram intake... but that was close to October or November when its colder. i will post dyno print out later |

I beg to differ on the M370 saying you lose peak HP here is my dyno just after installing the M370 http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...d76c09a68a.jpg |

^and was there a tune prior to install and a retune after install?

before and after dyno attached.
well, I'm certainly disgusted at seeing some of the big differences. Here is my original dyno granted 47 degrees out (dyno-noheadersntestpipes) and then the dyno with adding the z1 headers and removing aam HFC and replacing with AAM DE TPs. the one I saw earlier of someone getting 20 or so just from bolt on, I hope that's on a car with no other mods because if its 20whp on a fully modded car just from installation then... well... right. I shouldn't care. AAM did fix whatever the rattle was quickly so +1 to them on that. |
that was 1 week after install... before tune..
|
i have ark exhaust, berk HFC,stillen gen 3 for my first dyno which is red and it was 73 degrees the blue with the M370 was at 98 degrees..
im also running the 7at |
looks good, i will be keeping eyes open for m370s in the marketplace threads. if it was similar temps, you might have dynoed even higher relative to your baseline
|
next on the list is underive pulleys going to see if i can get before and after on those ..my next schedule dyno is in October 22 so should be cooler..ill post a thread and results on those once its done..
|
I'm on the fence on the pulleys, several people including Seb told me it wasn't worth ti and they wouldn't do it. Do you always do your dyno tuning at SpecialtyZ?
|
yep only place I have been...guess we will find out if they are worth it or not in Oct..lol
|
Why didn't you get it tuned when you did that dyno pull after installing the m370? Seems like quite a long drive back in October just for the tune.
|
I got the NST pullies installed by Seb a year ago. Dyno showed 5-7 WHP gains through out the power band.
|
Seb just expressed concern to me in the long term regarding the lack of a damper. he didn't say it was bad for sure if that there was any evidence of it being bad, just that he wouldn't want to risk it. That put me on the fence since Seb is the Z specialist.
|
I did get it tuned after the dyno pull.. it didn't give me any gains at all which sometimes it happens..we trimed out the A/F and nothing was gained...
I been thinking about it tonight and I think im going to go FI GTM supercharged... after thinking of spending about 4.5k for long tube headers and 4.08 gears I feel a few more thousand for FI would be money better spent..so ill more than likely be selling the pulleys and the rest of my parts here soon... |
Let me know about the m370 and pulleys.

Eighties' results are concerning. We need some more reviews to see if anyone else is running into this and if so, why. I thought z1 couldn't keep these in stock they were selling so fast. Where are the guys who bought them?

They're sitting in the garage all boxed up nicely until I get them installed eventually, looking like next year probably.
|
next year! if they get HR flange on, I might cave in ot the mod bug and have them by then, haha

You can have any welder weld a flange on for you very easily |
Lol what's the big deal just buy de cats!! Or test pipes!

Already have resonated HFCs I like. That's a lot for extra cost and a big hassle. It's basic paying for 2 mods for just one. I'm not in a big rush, just did 4.08 gears.

Many options |
Doesn't z1 sell flanges? Anyhow, I just want to make sure length/fitment etc is right since I can't really have my car down since it's my DD. Not in a rush so I will wait for the HR flange version. If I was, I would have bought those momentums from the 350z forum instead of tipping you off on them.
|
martin says buy both like it's no big deal even though he got a super deal on his, haha
