I am so glad I started this thread. This is hilarious!
I hope you know that my use of cheap bends actually cheapens YOUR 370Z! I know that this haunts you and has prevented you from sleeping since my first post. You guys are such a bunch of prima donnas! And Mike, I love the exhaust. What I thought you guys would see is that it is possible to easily develop and install a muffler delete on our cars. The main problem is that you normally need to weld flanges on to the exhaust to connect to the mid pipe section. But I found a way to do it without welding. Check my upcoming DIY. I like creating things on my own. Keep in mind that I developed the first brake cooling duct DIY more than a year before Stillen had its kit. I can swap out my muffler in less than 20 minutes at the track for some great sound. In hindsight, I guess I should have posted this thread in the track section.

Is it ugly as homemade sin? Yes
Is it something I would do to my car? No Does it accomplish what the OP set out to do? YES Nice project. As I said, not something I would do, but it shows a certain amount of good old Yankee ingenuity. Ignore the naysayers and keep experimenting.

![]() I think it's a cool little project to do if you're bored and glad it worked out for OP. Just like with your home made splitter and diffuser, they may not be the prettiest looking parts, but they do what they're supposed to. I'd love to hear a sound clip of it. I wanted to do custom short tails to use with my Berk CBE, but I'll probably have one made by an exhaust shop if I decide to get one. |
