I say, someone at the top of the list should give up their spot to semtex so we can get the CBE comparison test started.

Tony,

The FI exhaust you manufactured for my son arrived today, Fri. 4/30/10. Was off the UPS truck a mere 1/2 hour and my son and I were doing the install on his 2010 Nissan 370Z.

To cut to the chase, I am 61 years old and have installed many a cat back exhaust in my time. Bassani's, Borla's, Magnaflow, Flowmaster you name it. Have installed these on Vettes, Mustangs, Lightings, etc. I can tell you without a doubt your shipment packaging is the absolute best I have ever seen. The quality of the product / welds and bends is superior to all others. Fit was spot on! Instructions you included were succinct, clear and more. The step by step instructions would be easy to follow even for novices doing the install. It was an absolute pleasure to install your exhaust! You and Daniel can be very proud of your workmanship, product, packaging, etc.. I might add Tony, your posts on this forum / your hand holding lets call it / your customer service are greatly appreciated.

I have to compliment my son for being informed enough, smart enough to go with Fast Intentions, Inc. for his 370Z cat back exhaust needs. Why would a 370Z owner even consider another cat back exhaust when such a fantastic exhaust and reasonably priced exhaust is available through Fast Intentions, Inc.

Almost forgot, What a terrific sounding exhaust and geeeeez is it great looking!

Thanks for your top notch, superior product offering!

More thoughts on the install for those preparing for the install ......

Could be done by one guy but really is better for two to do it.

Takes some real strong arming to break loose those nuts on the stock exhaust. Also when doing the very simple leveling step of the FI exhaust, a second person is really a plus. DO not forget to assure the exhaust is level as you move through the installation.

The required tool list that Fast Intentions, Inc. shows on the instruction sheet lists tools necessary to do the FI install itself. Only other thing I would say is an absolute must have (unless you have air tools) is a decent 12-14" breaker bar as you will need it when removing the stock exhaust. Again, it is a must have.

Have 6 to 9 washers handy prior to the install as you may have to use the washers for spacing when adjusting the exhaust tips. You may or may not need them but best to have handy.

Consider this ....IMO, it's NOT overkill to use new/virgin cat to cat back 'gaskets' when doing the FI, CBE install. These new gaskets do -not- come with the FI CBE. The gaskets, Nissan part# 20692-1E810 are approx. $11.00 each (you need two) and are cheap lets say insurance... to insure that you will be less apt to have an exhaust leak that you will have to address after the CBE install. These gaskets are easily had at any Nissan stealership. If you booger up one or more of the nuts when you remove the factory installed nuts (easy to do) you may also wish you had new nuts Nissan part# 20602-41G00 to use with the FI CBE install. The nuts run about $4.00 each and you need 4.

Note... You have to have the 370Z off the ground at least 4-6 inches both front and rear when you are doing the install. You need to have room to crawl under there and even more an issue is you need car up high enough so you can wield/use your 12"-14" long handled breaker bar when removing the old exhaust. Yes, trust me you will need a breaker bar for use in removing the old exhaust unless of course you have air tools.

While you can bend the heat shield up it looks better if you trim it. For this a simple tin snip works great.

Last part of the install .... be sure to have the Z flat on level ground, on all 4 tires before you start trying to adjust the tips if indeed you will even need to adjust them.

Be 100% sure to really tighten up all the bolts on your flanges and each hanger.

For the Novice be sure you have say 3 hours of daylight hours to complete the install. Sure the install can be done in 1.5 hrs if you are somewhat experienced/handy and have all the proper tools. I recommend you have a second vehicle handy in case you have to go somewhere to borrow or buy a tool.

In closing the install is straight forward. FI's exhaust is spot on fit wise. What a terrific exhaust.... perfect fit!
Don't be afraid to tackle this install yourself but do take into consideration what I have mentioned here.

Nice write up! I'll make sure to mention these things when my mechanic installs the cbe and hfcs wednesday I had a date Saturday for Nissan to put the exhaust on than found out they're charging $275 and they wont put on the HFCs. My mechanic will do them both AND fix all scratches and blemishes in the paint + paint door handles for $150. That made my day haha

Oh, and thanks to TONY..I received my packages yesterday

Whats the difference in sound like between the CF and the steel mufflers? 18" Resonators if that makes a difference at all.

I'll probably be ordering one end of may and while I think I'd prefer the CF mufflers, I wouldn't want them if they made the exhaust louder. Gotta think of the neighbors....

CF should be louder than the SS cans. I believe the SS will also be smoother and deeper than the CF.

I just finished painting my exhaust flat black, except the tips of course. The exhaust is well hidden now and I recommend it for anyone wary of the appearance. I anticipated doing this going into the purchase, and the results are very nice. Anyone want pics?

I hope you used a heat resistant/durable/non flaking paint??? If not, it will look like crap once it starts burning and caking??

I can't imagine this being a good idea, but yeah
