As far as performance, the 12" and 18" resonators are the same. It's just a difference of how loud the sound will be. The shorter the resonator, the louder the sound will be. I hope that helps.

The exhaust sounds amazing. It also quiets down a bit once broken in not that it was too loud at all to begin with. I love hearing the sound of Tony's Fast Intentions exhaust. Sounds so good to my hears and I can drive forever with no music and just listening to the exhaust notes through any range in the power band. I'm sleeping in my car tonight now that I think about it, that's how much love this exhaust
