1) Stock (Baseline)
2) TDX cat back
3) TDX cat back w/ high flow cats
4) TDX cat back w/ resonated test pipes
5) Possibly- stock cat back w/ high flow cats
6) Possibly- stock cat back w/ resonated test pipes

We will get 3-4 runs with each configuration and take the average of each one. Not low stock and high cat back, that is inaccurate and it is false!

It is a Dynojet and it will be set in SAE all the way through.
The only change we will make will be the component we are testing. I will take video and sound clips as well.

I welded a wideband bung in to the stock exhaust to show all of you what the A/F numbers will be stock. I will also have A/F readings in every other configuration to show you if it leans out and how much.

Stay tuned...

Now thats what i'm talking about. Talk about thorough!

Excellent news, I have 6 hours of watch on Thursday night Im sure Ill have a bit of reading and decision making to do!

Nice, thorough testing you have in line. I like it

I did not buy one of their exhaust or cats/test pipes for my G37 but I can tell you that guys over on myg37.com rave about the exhaust and customer service, so they must be doing something right lol.....

I ordered the carbon fiber mufflers version (6 lbs. lighter than regular mufflers), and I have Berk HFC's sitting here that will be installed the same time as the exhaust. I am confident that this exhaust will have good power gains. 2.5 inch diameter piping, good x-pipe design, and the mufflers go straight out instead of the stacked design that has more bends. I anxiously await the arrival of my new exhaust.

I am going to have the exhaust same setup. I already have the Berk HFCs sitting in my garage.

F.I. Do you have a picture of what the Carbon Fiber Muffler version looks like close up? Also, can you PM me a price for the exhaust system with the CF mufflers and 18" resonators? Thanks!

Just so all of you know, this is our Evo X Carbon Fiber cat back. I am currently showing it, to give you an example of what the Carbon Fiber mufflers look like.

This is what is etched in the top of the tips.

Thanks, Tony

DannyGT 07-07-2009 08:01 PM

Are these tips prone to turning yellow if I run a resonated test pipe? Also, would you recommend going with the larger resonater with the res test pipes?

FuszNissan 07-07-2009 08:06 PM

LOVING ALL THE OPTIONS!!!:yum:

The tips will keep their polished finish for the most part. If you clean them on a regular basis, they will stay looking good. Glass cleaner and a soft towel is the only thing I ever recommend.

If you want it to stay somewhat on the quieter side inside the cabin, I would recommend the larger resonator.

m4a1mustang 07-07-2009 08:35 PM

Those look pretty good. I'd love to see some rear shots from down low to show ground clearance.

Togo 07-07-2009 08:38 PM

Resent, let me know if you didn't get it.

zero 07-07-2009 10:22 PM

Can I get pricing on the following?
12" resonators, CF mufflers
18" resonators, CF mufflers

Thank you.

kannibul 07-07-2009 10:42 PM

With FI HFC's, 18" reso's, and non-CF mufflers - how much "louder" will it be over stock?

LiquidZ 07-07-2009 11:25 PM

Tony,

How well does the CF mufflers stand up to the heat from the exhaust? Are there any durability issues associated with them?

F.I. Inc. 07-08-2009 01:47 AM

Pictures as promised. They are also located on the first page by I feel like that is so many pages ago, I would make them current as well...

The resonators in this X Pipe are 12" we also offer the X Pipe with 18" resonators!

Quite a bit louder. You cannot compare the stock exhaust to an aftermarket straight through exhaust with minimal bends and high flow cats. What I can tell you is that it will sound good though.

The combination you are asking about is the way to go if you ask me!

The Carbon Fiber itself is extremely durable. I have been using it for years and I have customers all over the world with mother nature throwing all different kinds of elements at them!

It holds up very well to the heat and as a matte of fac, you can drive the car get the exhaust system to operating temperature and the Carbon Fiber mufflerl will be only warm to the touch. Trust me I have done it many times as a demonstration!

Minicobra1 07-08-2009 03:05 AM

Good to hear!

SOLISIMO 07-08-2009 06:50 AM

I guess the shorter the resonator the louder the exhaust, correct?

Tony, it looks like those flanges close to where the two sides touch (starting from the bottom and moving up on this picture, the first set of flanges you get to, before the X in the pipe) are super close, do they actually touch? I am wondering if it will clank? Probably not, but I figured I should ask.

Good catch. I certainly hope they don't cause vibrations.

If I'm seeing things correctly, they appear to have a weld-bead between them.

F.I. Inc. 07-08-2009 08:53 AM

Correct, the two flanges i the front of the X Pipe are welded together.

Anyone in the So Cal area that wants to drop in and hear the exhaust is more than welcome to.
