Well today is October 22, if you could ship it before October is over then that would be great :) Wishful thinking never hurts, right ;)

Tony any updates on #45

earwicker7 10-24-2009 03:35 PM

I had an exhaust (12" Resonator and Carbon Fiber Mufflers) and a Stillen G3 installed at Fast Intentions yesterday. Tony and his crew are very nice guys with a good sense of humor and a killer work ethic. He could have just slapped the Stillen on as is but instead took the time to bead roll it and make sure that everything fit just right. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and the exhaust is demonic... downshifts sound SOOOOO good.

Lol... I said the same thing when Tony first mentioned it; I'd never heard of it either. He used something called a bead roller that basically puts a lip on the pipe so that those little rubber doohickeys that wrap around where the pipes join get a better grip. Tony (or someone else) can probably explain it better. It's just something that he said Stillen should have done but didn't.

NewYorkJon34 10-26-2009 02:52 AM

Any Updates Tony? ;)

99.99999% sure one of those two is mine. :happydance:

Liquid_G 10-26-2009 02:25 PM

Hey Anyone see this question? or does anyone know? Probably got lost in all of NewYorkJon's posts looking for updates :eekdance: lol just kidding..

Would FI's high flow cats also work with a s/c setup? or would the test pipes be better?
I know Tony himself said the exhaust would be perfect for an SC setup.. but didn't see anything about either of these 2 things. thanks

NewYorkJon34 10-26-2009 03:31 PM

Sry for :postwhore: Im going to write a review with pics after I get mine so that should make up for the posts :ugh2:

I really like it

I installed my system three days ago and thought I would write a breif report
First the craftmanship is excellent , this system is replacing my stillen cbe. I got the 18" res with cf mufflers. This system is 27lbs lighter than stillen and the quality isn't even in the same league.
The install was very easy and the fit was perfect at the first try , all the clearances were ideal . The only issue I had was the stock steel gaskets coming from the cats , were about 3/16ths smaller than the id of the system so I made my own .
I have headers and berk hfc's and when I started the car the sound was definatly louder , but the car sounded strong , mean , yet refined. Idle is a very nice deep smooth purr , and the moment you touch the throttle its there ! Gone is the annoying rasp and the system makes the car seem like a serious high performance sports car . The sound is never obnoxious but it is strong , the car is clearly more responsive and truelly feels like it breaths freely and revs out freelly . I love the sound now and mid to top end is pure music !
This system is everything I hoped it would be and has been the best mod in quality and performance I have done yet . You will not regret getting it if you trully like a agressive yet classy sound . Yes there is some drone at 2000 to 2500 rpm but I plan on installing some sound matts.
I have dynoed it before and plan on doing it tomorrow to see the gains and will post the results.
The tips are angled and fit the body like the stock tips did , which I prefer , I really have no complaints , JOB WELL DONE TONY !!!!

Be advised that you will need to cover a lot of surface area with some heavy duty mass loaded vinyl sound deadening sheets to have even minimal impact on the drone.

NewYorkJon34 10-29-2009 06:11 PM

DavidL: awesome review man, we all appreciate it  I ordered the same as you, and can't wait to share the same excitement.

Zsteve 10-29-2009 07:45 PM

so who here has had the FI CBE installed then later had HFC installed? Im trying to get a feel for the change in sound from CBE to CBE and HFCs. Thanks.

So much for the weight savings.

NewYorkJon34 10-29-2009 09:04 PM

Even with the drone, it still sounds good right?

DavidL 10-29-2009 10:06 PM

actually the drone isnt that bad at all , I can avoid it buy bumping up or down a gear at some of the lower speeds , at 70 on cruise the road noise is louder.

zulus370Z 10-30-2009 02:15 PM

Are we there yet? I mean, did my exhaust ship out yet?
Hook me up Tony!! Aka exhaust Sensei!

I'm most likely getting the FI HFCs in Dec/Jan. With those and the Nismo CBE, you should be able to judge how much louder the full FI system will be. That's a long wait though.... :)

Zsteve 10-30-2009 04:22 PM

Im gonna have to listen to your exhaust again and try to remember what it sounds like for comparisons.

By the way Matt I need some good books on switches and routers and may need some train up at your work if possible. Know of any good ones that might be easy to get a hold of?

CGMobile370Z 10-30-2009 04:43 PM

Just got my FI exhaust put on today and i have to say it sounds amazing. Even better in person and in the car, the videos just dont do it justice. Thank you bunches Tony for a great product i cant wait for your headers to come out.

Are the HFC's getting shipped out in the same line as the CBEs? Or are they already available?

Philipp 10-31-2009 04:48 PM

FI shipping update?

Tony,
Can we get an update on the delivery schedule?
Happy halloween!

kdo2milger 10-31-2009 05:07 PM

whats all this f-in talk about drone!!!

seriously...i have the non resonated version and the only time i hear any drone is on the highway in 6th gear going up a hill...

seems like the majority have gone or are going for the 18in resonators...that should be more than enough to tame any amount of drone that may be there...

i know im old and have been around aviation for many years...but i can still hear, and i love my exhaust and wouldnt have it any other way Tony
