Yea to be honest after driving around for an hour today, it's MUCH louder than my HFC/Nismo catback, especially between 2k-3k rpm. It's extremely boomy... im almost wondering if i did infact receive the 12" resonated version instead of the 18" (which i ordered). Does anyone have pics to show the 12" vs 18" X-pipe for comparison? I didnt take much note of the resonator sizes at the time of install. At WOT though this exhaust sounds incredible, it's just the around town boomy sound that i'm wondering about now.

Vegitto-kun 09-06-2010 04:06 PM

oy tony is it true that there have been two LTH sets ordered for somebody in belgium?

ProfessorDave 09-06-2010 07:13 PM

If I read all 318 pages of this thread, can I get my CBE sooner?

The 18" res ends right at the flange where you connect the mufflers.

I received my 12" F.I CBE and installed it about 15minutes ago... took it for a spin and I must say WOW. Thank you very much Tony for a great exhaust system. I installed it at my job ( Nissan ) and all the techs were amazed at the quality, fitment and sound.

Twin turbos are coming soon... that's why I didn't install the HFC with it. It sounds amazing! worth the wait.

I got nervous. This is the first time I've see this thread off the first page. What if Tony needs to update the list, can't find the thread, and cancels my exhaust build?!?

red6spd 09-09-2010 10:05 AM

I'll give an update. Mine comes 2morrow HAHAHAHAHAHAH Sorry.

Red6spd, are you planning to be home to receive the delivery? Because if not, I'd be happy to wait outside your house for it. And then, to make sure it doesn't get wet/cold/stolen, I'll just put the box in the back of my Mazda hatchback. And so it doesn't get bored, I'll drive it around a bit. Maybe over a couple or bridges and 2 states line:driving:

Don't worry about it Tony. You've been great about getting an update posted at the end of the week usually.:tiphat: I'm just excited because I'm thinking I'm within a week or two of shipping:excited:

I'm starting to wonder now if the LTH's are gonna be TOO Loud lol haha... hopefully not, if so, I'll see if tony can make me some custom pipes with 2x resonators to dull it out... we'll see this next weekend how it sounds...

“Patience is a virtue” and all, you must be getting pretty edgy by now! :excited:
I got a great idea; you can come by and we can both sit in my garage and listen to my Stillen’s CBE , till then! :icon14:

Just busting you, “lol”

Seriously, how long do you think?
Good luck, hope you get them soon, I'm sure the F.I. CBE will look and sound awesome on “ZZZIPPY":happydance:

The exhaust is probably there waiting for you by now. I hope the dogs don't eat it!

Tannersville is about 40 mins from Scranton, a few minutes more to where I live. If you come up this way let me know. We'll do a run. Alex (Elia Cid), who is busting me about not having my exhaust yet doesn't live too far from Tannersville, either.

PapoZalsa 09-10-2010 05:25 PM

Well I finally got my F.I. installled today. The exhaust fits like a glove, looks and sounds great! After around 10 weeks of waiting and shipping problems I'm glad is over.

However the most important point of all this waiting period is the GREAT Customer Service of F.I. (Tony). I have never had such a pleasant experience with any vendor.

Long story short after waiting all that time one of the canister was damaged. I PM Tony and after a phone call he said he will fix it and he did. NO hassale, NO extra shipping charges or nonsense BS.

BTW, his packing is terrific, lot of packing material and bubble wrap so your part is not damage.

Received the replacement one a week later. What can I say? SUPER EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Thanks Tony and PM me when you are ready for the pick up.

MetalPiotr 09-10-2010 07:20 PM

I don't even have Z yet but I absolutely how the FI exhaust sounds. Maybe I should get it and put it on display while I wait for my car?

ProfessorDave 09-10-2010 07:55 PM

Order the FI now! Z's can be found at a good price everyday. But an FI exhaust is crafted with time and care. Like a fine wine. Or a really good cat back exhaust.

Save some money...I'll sell you a 30-min MP3 you can just hook into your iPod... ;)

red6spd 09-11-2010 12:30 AM

Tony!!!!!!!!!! Mark me down as installed!!!!!!!!! Have not put many miles on it yet and I'm trying to respect the "Break in Period" except the one time on the Southern State with that Cayman S LOL. Anyway this was by far the best fitting exhaust I have ever installed. I love Stillen but there slip joints are no match for FI's flanges. So far I looks like I wont have to adjust or add washers, it fit perfect I LOVE IT. And the sound omg, I got the Non-Resonated version and its loud, but thats how I wanted it. The sound is very exotic. My GF compared it to an Indy car LOL. Tony my man you have by far the best exhaust out for the car. Pics and Vids to come stay tune.

Do you have HFC or headers? Doesnt seem like it from your signature.
If not please post a vid.
im also getting the non res and i havent been able to find a clip on youtube that doesnt have HFCs.
thanks

Vegitto-kun 09-11-2010 07:19 AM

Uck I always cry inside when I read people saying how easy and perfect installing the CBE is while the person who installed mine said he had nothing but problems with it not fitting

Nope no Headers and it still has stock cats. Will be going LTH's or TP soon. I will have plenty of vids hopefully later on today. I just wanna make sure everything stays snug so she has been on and off the ramps a few times. Your gonna love the Non-Resonated set-up especially if you like loud exhaust. Its not like eww wtf loud, just perfect LOL. Pops and gargles on a down shift to.

ProfessorDave 09-11-2010 09:52 AM

Red6spd, sounds awesome. Can't wait for the videos.

Did you raise both the front an rear of the car? I'm planning ramps in the rear, and the sandwiched 2X4 (I'll use 2x12's) method others have used for the front. Sould like enough clearance?

Well for off I got a big belly that does not help so I needed a little bit more room lol. I put the rear up on the ramps but there was not enough room to get to the 4 bolts that bolt the CBE to the stock cats. So after putting the back on ramps I raised the front onto jack stands so that the car was level. It made life alot eaiser. I dont know what kind of tools your using but I used basic hand tools and the stock bolts where torque down to like 604986093586095860938609386 LBFT. I had to use a hammmer on the wrench to break the bolts loose. I took my stock exhaust off before the new one came, good thing cause it took me about 2 hours to get the stock exhaust off.

ProfessorDave 09-11-2010 11:56 AM

Thanks Red6spd. I have jack stands + ramps, so I could raise the front, too. I'm going to try the stacked wood under the front wheels first. I have air tools if I need them, but prefer to work with hand tools.

Did you use any PB blaster or other solvent on the cat bolts ahead of the install?

Yep used WD-40 crap was tight. Also I could not get the stock muffler off the hangers for the life of me. LOL... I found it easier to onbolt the hanger bracket from the car and take the muffler off all in one. UPLOADING VIDS NOW!!!!!!!!!
