no it is shoddy build quality

the other shops just put on the turbos and **** and didn't bother checking if the engine could handle it.

the guy is now building new crankshaft, pistons and stuff so the engine doesn't blow.

In his 7 years of his shop he never blew up a engine.

I mean he had 5 R34 and 2 R33 sitting there with 600 to 1300 hp which have 30.000+ miles with no problems.

Edit: exhaust is installed.

He is impressed with the welding but installation was a pain in the *** apparently.

no new gaskets for the LTH for the engine side which will need new ones since the old ones would probably leak. the bolts are the standard stuff and he always uses these special ones that completely lock up so they cant shake loose. He is afraid that there might be a risk that they would start to loosen up after 20.000+ miles.

alignment was something he had to fix too but he fixed it with washers and some other stuff. in the beginning the right pipe was about a half centimeter off which is quite noticeable to say the least.

in short terms he likes the quality but the installing was alot more work than expected.

Don't mean to thread jack, so sorry in advanced. But I am looking to get a quieter exhaust as I live in the city. I just bought a Meistershaft GTS with ERZ HFC's and it's just too loud. We all know it's the loudest exhaust out there but it was worth a shot. Anyway if anyone was thinking of getting one and wants to do a trade plus some cash, let me know. Maybe we can work out a deal. I had been wanting the FI CBE with 18" resonators but didn't want to have to wait. Well now I am forced to wait either way. LOL

As far as the wait, I cannot help you on that. We are up to #205 and shipping in the 170's. I know you are trying to get someone to trade. It may work for you and it may not. In the event it does not, call me and we will get the ball rolling for you...

Thanks, Tony

We are about a week or so behind at this point. We have shipped up to #172 & sold up to #205. I will update it again sometime next week. Everyone all I ask is you continue to hang in there with patience. I appreciate everyone of you...

Thanks, Tony

Tony, will F.I. have a booth or be represented @ Fontana Sunday? It would be awesome if so to say hai. :hello:

Or are you that far from Fontana Nissan, might stop by and see how it's goin.

ProfessorDave 07-30-2010 09:21 PM

Tony, if #203 happens to ship next, there's $14 in unmarked bills that can be all yours;)

if they are unmarked how does he know what denomination they are?

Hey guys I have a question.

I installed my today and it works fine but the pipe is very close to the rare bumper, barely any space between it, would that be a problem of causing some burn?

Billy02987 07-31-2010 01:12 AM

Yes.

Yes you should adjust it with the flange underneath.

Vegitto-kun 07-31-2010 03:02 AM

I have been thinking.

could there be some differences between the european and american Zs in terms of the exhaust because I found it odd that he had so many problems

Billy02987 08-01-2010 11:16 AM

I Installed mine yesterday along with my intakes. Took me about 4 hour's to do everything. Came out great though. Sounds very nice. It's got a deep growl at low end and it just open's up nicely at high end. I'm hoping that once the computer adapts to all the added air flow I'll feel some more horsepower.

In the back where the hangers are you can shim them down. A washer on all three bolts on each side shall do the trick. Just make sure that you do it evenly so the tips match.

I am assuming that you have a 2010 model. I have noticed the tips sit slightly higher on the 2010 opposed to the 2009

Call me if you need pointers, i can walk you through it...

It will adapt, just give it some time and put some mileage on it.

Vegitto-kun 08-01-2010 11:36 AM

dear god this exhaust is just sex.

I am honestly scared to put on the LTH XD

red6spd 08-01-2010 12:09 PM

I want mineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vegitto-kun 08-01-2010 12:27 PM

The exhaust without the LTH already is damn loud.

I love how I already hear the bubbling in the exhaust

waiting to be unleashed with the LTH

red6spd 08-01-2010 04:41 PM

So what do you guys think. I'm not worried about how loud the exhaust is gonna end up or the rasp. How much of a HP difference will the LTH's give me VS NON-Resonated test pipes. I have a Non-Resonated Cat-Back on order from Tony.

Vegitto-kun 08-01-2010 04:55 PM

I don't think its that big of a difference but I am pretty sure the LTH give a few hp over the TP

I agree. But its like 1k plus VS like 275 LOL... I'll spend the money if the gain is decent, but if its only like 1-3hp its not worth it.

From what I've read and studied on the FI LTH's is that you actually see the gains throughout the power band...It may not be as high up top in comparision to the TP's....which will probably give you a higher Top HP, but how often are you gonna rev your Z to 7K +?

Having power throughout the powerband is a great trade off....You will win over the TP's from 3k and up....It is a bit more cheaper to get a TP, but if you think about it, your getting two parts with the LTH's...Would be a better bet to go with the LTH's IMO...But be sure that they are legal from where you're from.

Here is my 2 cents if it counts. The non resonated test pipes will make roughly the same top end as the long tune headers. However, in the low end and the mid range the headers will out perform by at least 10 foot pounds of torque. As far as horsepower it will range from 5-8 at the wheels. Some of you may think that is not substantial however at this power level it is!

On the flip side the test pipes will cost quite a bit less in the long run.

Flip a coin and call me. I personally think you need the 18" resonators if you decide to go with either.

Tony

ProfessorDave 08-02-2010 08:48 AM

I'm pretty sure your 2 cents counts, Tony!:tiphat:

red6spd 08-02-2010 08:25 PM

Thanks for the input guys, and thanks Tony. I'm probably gonna go with the LTH's just cause its kind of cool to say you got them on your car LOL. Anyway I got a Non-Resonated Cat-Back on order from you Tony, so that and the LTH's should sound interesting LOL. And when the time comes for the LTH's Ill be calling ya.

You could perhaps check the Greddy TT thread in the 'Forced Induction' section...

Greddy Twin Turbo In Development

I mean I'm completely spitballing here, but I'm fairly certain that's what it's about... :ugh2:

new370 08-02-2010 09:08 PM

yeah thanks ill check it out i wanted to talk to people who had a turbo kit to see what they think n if the results are worth the money

XwChriswX 08-02-2010 09:14 PM

Not too many people have bought the Greddy kit from what I've seen... There's a current magazine article about it, but that's the most press I think they've gotten.

Vegitto-kun 08-03-2010 06:09 AM

Now that I think about it.

would the FI CBE be able to handle TT.

I know that the LTH will have to go but what about the CBE.

The Greddy and GTM kits will be happy with a 2.5" exhaust in the 450 whp range with a little room to grow.

Yep, it is only when you start breaking the 500HP range will you want a full 3.0" exhaust probably.

It can, JB's TT build was shooting a few flames on one of the first tunes.
It has a more refined tune now so it does not do it, but he still has the original tune if we ever want to try it again.

xbigb4ller69z 08-03-2010 04:49 PM

How do guys think stillens s/c with F.I. resonated test pipes and 18" resonated CB CBE would sound? extremely loud? well I guess I'll find out in about a month lol

tjlazer 08-03-2010 06:15 PM

OK I placed my order for the FI 18" CBE with Specialty Z since I bought my 300ZX Labree exhaust from them a few years ago. Can't wait!

We appreciate the business. I received the order from Greg@SpecialtyZ today. You are #208

On another note, your LaBree system for the 300ZX TT was indeed a Fast Intentions exhaust if you bought it through SpecialtyZ within the last 5 years. When we split in 2005 from LaBree and started our own business SpecialtyZ came with us. Prior to that I was building all of the SpecialtyZ products since 1999 while I helped create LaBree!

Again, thanks for the business...

Tony

tjlazer 08-03-2010 08:24 PM

Yep I got it in 2007. I love that exhaust! I still have my 300ZX TT. I even have test pipes on it and it sounds nice and deep!
