the other shops just put on the turbos and **** and didn't bother checking if the engine could handle it. the guy is now building new crankshaft, pistons and stuff so the engine doesn't blow. In his 7 years of his shop he never blew up a engine. I mean he had 5 R34 and 2 R33 sitting there with 600 to 1300 hp which have 30.000+ miles with no problems. Edit: exhaust is installed. He is impressed with the welding but installation was a pain in the *** apparently. no new gaskets for the LTH for the engine side which will need new ones since the old ones would probably leak. the bolts are the standard stuff and he always uses these special ones that completely lock up so they cant shake loose. He is afraid that there might be a risk that they would start to loosen up after 20.000+ miles. alignment was something he had to fix too but he fixed it with washers and some other stuff. in the beginning the right pipe was about a half centimeter off which is quite noticeable to say the least. in short terms he likes the quality but the installing was alot more work than expected. |
Don't mean to thread jack, so sorry in advanced. But I am looking to get a quieter exhaust as I live in the city. I just bought a Meistershaft GTS with ERZ HFC's and it's just too loud. We all know it's the loudest exhaust out there but it was worth a shot. Anyway if anyone was thinking of getting one and wants to do a trade plus some cash, let me know. Maybe we can work out a deal. I had been wanting the FI CBE with 18" resonators but didn't want to have to wait. Well now I am forced to wait either way. LOL

Hey guys I have a question.
I installed my today and it works fine but the pipe is very close to the rare bumper, barely any space between it, would that be a problem of causing some burn? |
Yes.

I have been thinking.
could there be some differences between the european and american Zs in terms of the exhaust because I found it odd that he had so many problems |
I Installed mine yesterday along with my intakes. Took me about 4 hour's to do everything. Came out great though. Sounds very nice. It's got a deep growl at low end and it just open's up nicely at high end. I'm hoping that once the computer adapts to all the added air flow I'll feel some more horsepower.

I am assuming that you have a 2010 model. I have noticed the tips sit slightly higher on the 2010 opposed to the 2009 Call me if you need pointers, i can walk you through it... Tony |

dear god this exhaust is just sex.
I am honestly scared to put on the LTH XD |
I want mineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
The exhaust without the LTH already is damn loud.
I love how I already hear the bubbling in the exhaust waiting to be unleashed with the LTH |
So what do you guys think. I'm not worried about how loud the exhaust is gonna end up or the rasp. How much of a HP difference will the LTH's give me VS NON-Resonated test pipes. I have a Non-Resonated Cat-Back on order from Tony.
|
I don't think its that big of a difference but I am pretty sure the LTH give a few hp over the TP

Having power throughout the powerband is a great trade off....You will win over the TP's from 3k and up....It is a bit more cheaper to get a TP, but if you think about it, your getting two parts with the LTH's...Would be a better bet to go with the LTH's IMO...But be sure that they are legal from where you're from. |

#183 :iagree: |

On the flip side the test pipes will cost quite a bit less in the long run. Flip a coin and call me. I personally think you need the 18" resonators if you decide to go with either. Tony |
I'm pretty sure your 2 cents counts, Tony!:tiphat:
|
Thanks for the input guys, and thanks Tony. I'm probably gonna go with the LTH's just cause its kind of cool to say you got them on your car LOL. Anyway I got a Non-Resonated Cat-Back on order from you Tony, so that and the LTH's should sound interesting LOL. And when the time comes for the LTH's Ill be calling ya.

does anyone have a turbo setup i want to go with greddys twin turbo kit but i want to see real results befor i go through with it

Greddy Twin Turbo In Development I mean I'm completely spitballing here, but I'm fairly certain that's what it's about... :ugh2: |
yeah thanks ill check it out i wanted to talk to people who had a turbo kit to see what they think n if the results are worth the money
|
Not too many people have bought the Greddy kit from what I've seen... There's a current magazine article about it, but that's the most press I think they've gotten.
|
Now that I think about it.
would the FI CBE be able to handle TT. I know that the LTH will have to go but what about the CBE. |

It has a more refined tune now so it does not do it, but he still has the original tune if we ever want to try it again. |
How do guys think stillens s/c with F.I. resonated test pipes and 18" resonated CB CBE would sound? extremely loud? well I guess I'll find out in about a month lol
|
OK I placed my order for the FI 18" CBE with Specialty Z since I bought my 300ZX Labree exhaust from them a few years ago. Can't wait!

Quote:
On another note, your LaBree system for the 300ZX TT was indeed a Fast Intentions exhaust if you bought it through SpecialtyZ within the last 5 years. When we split in 2005 from LaBree and started our own business SpecialtyZ came with us. Prior to that I was building all of the SpecialtyZ products since 1999 while I helped create LaBree! Again, thanks for the business... Tony |
Yep I got it in 2007. I love that exhaust! I still have my 300ZX TT. I even have test pipes on it and it sounds nice and deep!
