Hey guys, Just wondering which type of test pipe or hfc u guys went with. I went with Motordyne test pipe + FI catback 12" = the sounds is not deep and strong when u floor anymore. lots of drone from 2k rpm to 3.5k rpm. Please share your experience and also ur set up. appreciated!!

wherreratx 03-06-2014 09:09 PM

I just got mine installed. It's the best purchase next to getting my 370z!

chrisbeltre 03-06-2014 10:46 PM

I went with the Ark HFC's, got them since they came out and I've got a lot of compliments. I wonder how would it sound with the FI HFC's.

So, I have finally joined the forums as a member. I am #912 awaiting my non res exhaust + non res test pipes. Let me just say....I am SO psyched to get this exhaust. I literally have checked this thread about 10 times a day since placing my order in January. I honestly thought that I was going crazy, but after seeing that a lot of others are just as excited as I am, I feel better about it. I feel like time couldn't possibly move any slower right now!

All I can tell you is that your system will be LOUD! I was #892 and ordered the 18" res. CBE with the RHFCs. My system is plenty loud! I get a little drone at low rpms, but it doesn't bother me. It drowns out the road noise. I told myself that I would stop the mods after this purchase, but it's a desease! LOL I'm waiting for my Stillen G3 to arrive, then I'll be setting up an Uprev tune. I hope that will be the end of the mods!!!!!!

Test Pipes will do that.

I personally run Resonated HFCs paired w/ the NONresonated catback, and its about as low/deep as it can get. Absolutely love it!

genesis2012 03-07-2014 12:13 PM

My mods are done :)

FI exhaust took care of that

It will loud on cold start during cool/cold mornings, but will be all sorts of awesome otherwise!

RustyM2001 03-07-2014 09:52 PM

How many more weeks of waiting do I have to go?! Thanks FI for making me wish my life away! I'm so tempted to call back and order the HFCs!

soxfan69 03-08-2014 06:55 AM

Patience young Jedi! Good things come to those who wait:rofl2: You should check out "parts for sale" they come up a lot.

RoyaltyB 03-08-2014 12:20 PM

Besides "awesome" the second most used word in this thread might be patience. Hey Tony, do you guys sell any of that? Should be an optional add on for anyone buying the exhaust ;)

I know it's been said before, but the packaging is amazing. If it survived UPS, it would survive anything.

It shows the pride and care FI has for it's product. It must take at least an hour to package it like that. Great Job!

I believe that's normal for the 370z. I know the GT-R can't rev above 3K RPM

I believe if you hold in the clutch while you rev it'll let you pass 5k but I know when I've tried before the same things happen just a safety feature I guess :(

Did it rev past 5k before the install?

Thank you royalty, I couldn't be happier with the setup I picked

VQ looks great! The low revs were prob just the computer adjusting. Did u disconnect the batt before installing? It should help with the learn it curve of the ecm.

VQZ34nismo 03-08-2014 09:42 PM

That's what I figured, no I didn't disconnect the battery before, I should have, but everything is fine now

I had the car on for about 15 mins before I revved it

wackjum 03-09-2014 03:20 AM

Doesn't the Z limit revs in neutral?

1325 03-09-2014 04:44 PM

So I've had the exhaust on for just over two months and I finally got around to showing the muffler canisters some love. Sprayed on some foaming wash, scrubbed gently with a boars hair brush, and wiped them down. They pop; I didn't even bother polishing just yet!

so cold start, then idling for 15 min?

It may not have been warmed up enough. I know most modern ecu's now, if not all, wont allow you to rev up the engine until its at full operating temp.

my main point being here that the exhaust had nothing to do with it.

jhalloran004 03-09-2014 06:40 PM

Ahhhh I'm so close!!!! 6 away. I feel like the waiting is going to be worse then ever for the next few weeks. Why does time move so slow :eekdance:

mag_black 03-09-2014 07:18 PM

I use nevr-dull from eagle one. It shines them up real quick. The only issue is, my test pipes change it back to yellow. I just traded my 18" res for non-res. I have CF cans so it should be loud!

genesis2012 03-09-2014 08:24 PM

Can I just use windex and wipe the canisters? Stupid question

I really don't spray the canister or tip. I just slightly spray the towel and wipe off and dust or residue.

jcasti07 03-11-2014 01:43 PM

I currently have non reaonated TPs and I ordered the non resonated CBE. I'm concerned about drone, so I'm thinking of switching back to stock cats once the exhaust gets in. Anyone running that setup? Let me know how it sounds, thanks guys.

I have that setup with the CF cans and I love it, just try it and if you think is loud go back to stock cats.
