I wouldn't hit the bolt directly, but you can hit the ratchet or wrench to get a little bit of an impact gun action. I have to do that to

I wouldn't hit the bolt directly, but you can hit the ratchet or wrench to get a little bit of an impact gun action. I have to do that to break the caliper bolts loose because I can't really get that much leverage inside the wheel wells. Just don't whack it too hard!

But the breaker bar is going to be your best bet.

Why wouldn't you hit the bolt directly?

A rubber mallet is pretty good as well, but there is really no problem just giving the bolts some good taps...

But agreed on the breaker bar!
