![]() Great for gencoupes and scions. Not for the Z. Honestly, the best cheap intake mod for the Z is the intake hoses by either Mishimoto, HPS or Z1 motorsports with the intake filter of your choice. I chose K&N. The intake hose provides much cooler air to the engine than a cai because the silicone TRUELY blocks heat unlike most intakes aluminum or stainless tubes. The aftermarket filter provides freer air flow so you get true gains of 9-14hp, not like CAI's that drop 4-10hp and some torque before re-enteriing with a boost of 20+hp at 5600rpm. If you start with the exhaust and not the intake. You will find the final assembly of your intake exhaust will net the same power gains as other more expensive cai/exhaust setups that started with expensive intakes instead of vice versa. If you haven't put an exhaust yet? I would do the exhaust as a source of primary power gains before putting on an intake setup. And by using those hose setup, you have $325 to put toward a good exhaust like Fast intentions, Stillen, GT Haus, AAM etc. |
