Is it really worth putting a Cold Air Intake on 370z and what HP gains

They only make sense for the ppl that already spent the $400 plus, for something that already comes stock on their car.

If you want to change the intake then just get a couple K/N aircleaners.

But your better off to just keep the stock paper filters and replace them at least once a year.

Once an airfilter is dirty you can never get it really as clean as a new one, due to the fact that your dealing with a used dirty air filter that you rinse out in some solvent , blow out with compressed air and then oil it again.

Its like reusing injection needles or your old lady reusing her tampoons.

Its better off to stick with a brand new quality paper filter, cheaper and you know its clean.

CAI's have already been proven superior over drop in filters and post MAF tubes. The stock setup is awesome, but there is a distinct flat spot after 6500 rpm. paper filters are superior when measuring restriction, debatable in cleaning air. Especially R2C intakes.
Exhausts come stock on cars, they generally suck, so we replace them. Likewise the intakes...

Your missing the point, all cars come with air filters and exhaust systems.

Not all cars come stock with factory installed cold air intakes, as the the 370Z does stock.

Post some dyno results of 370z 's that have only had there stock CAI replaced with after market ones, most hp results are very minimal.

Sure if you put some big after market CAI on the car and then put on a good set of headers, large pipes and free flowing muffers and also eliminate the CATS and spend about $2500 and $500 on remapping , you will see some gains, but not from just simply putting on CAI by itself.

Already modded, my car gained at least 10whp from my intakes but I can't give an accurate number because NST pulleys were installed as well. Your still missing the point with the intakes. The stock intakes are still restrictive at the over 6,000rpm, regardless if they are getting cool air away from the engine bay. Tube diameter and new filters account for most of the gains. AEM, Stillen, AAM, Takeda, Akuma, and Injen have CAI's. That's a lot of companies creating a product you think does not work.

If you don't like them, then dont buy them, don't spread BS that they can only gain hp if you have other breather mods. It's untrue.

Looking at the mods your car has, it also has a lot of exhaust work done to it, that and the CAI will benefit a lot, but not with a CAI alone.

Comparing your dyno chart to a stock 370z listed below, it looks like the after market CAI returns, had less power than the stock dyno run listed below.

The point I was trying to make was, that if your only going to put on the aftermarket CAI , your HP returns will be only marginal and may be even less than stock , if the car hasn't been remapped or tuned properly. You also need to buy the best complete racing or street legal exhaust to fully achieve significant gains with the aftermarket CAI systems.

I would agree that the atermarket CAI would be very helpfull how a car that didn't come stock with a factory CAI , like a pick up truck etc.

But on the cars that have factory installed CAI returns, then the gains are only marginal.
