Default test pipe CEL fix question

Hey everyone I just finished installing my test pipes and I got a CEL as soon as I started it pretty much. I did the steel wool in the o2 bung as people suggest but it didnt seem to work. Now I am wondering if I put the correct amount in. So my question is to people who have had success w this method how much did you use? Did you pack the bung tight, snug or loose?? Lol I just read that last sentence back, sounds a bit perverted, my appologies

You might also try adding in a set of defoulers to extend the bung further away.

They are already extended but CNT does offer an additional piece that will extened it a bit and give it the 90° bend, that helps. Im hoping to cure it with steel wool, or at least I was.

Hmm... if already extended and steel wool isn't working, I think the only other option is an uprev tune.

My fix: carry a obd-2 code reader and erase the code everytime it comes on, haha.

This could work lol. It seems like even with the extended bung (HA HA BUNG!) alot of guys still get a CEL. Just save your money and tune her.

There are 2 kinds of codes that can pop up when installing test pipes.
1) Catalytic inefficeincy
2) Excessive O2 due to an air leak.

Find out what your code is and post it here.

If you have #2 its easy enough to fix.
If you have #1 I have a special material you can put into the nonfoulers to help clear it up.

Its an chemical oxidation catalyst like what is found in a catalytic converter but this is highly concentrated so that a small amount can be fit into a non-fouler.

Its available for free (as a test sample) to anybody who has test pipes, ART pipes or HFC and has the catalytic inefficiency code. I have been wanting to test this for a long time but the catch is that a non-fouler works most of the time without it. So to be able to do a proper test of the catalyst effectiveness, a non-fouler or J-bend must already be in place and have still have the catalytic inefficiency code.

The first person who has this specific condition gets a free sample to test.

Thats what I've been doing for a month, keep it in my gun compartment behind the passenger seat. Today I put the angled anti foulers on from CNT, so far driven about 75 miles no CEL. Was getting CEL every 10 miles, so looks promising so far.
