K and N Typhoon or Drop Ins?

I have the K&N drop ins. looking to upgrade to the Typhoon. barely notice the K&N drop ins. not sure of HP gain.

I believe most dynos will prove out that the K&N (or n my case the AFE) coupled with the smooth tubes (either brand) produce about the same as the Typhoons and you don't have to be concerned about heat build up at the light (takes a second or two to get cool air into the bay after you start to accelerate). The sound is different with the Typhoons of course so if that is what you like, go for them. The cost is a bit cheaper with the drop ins and tubes of course.

Thanks that helps. i was wondering about that. Was hard to find a dyno with just K&N drop-in's. I was also concerned about the tubes if they build up heat really bad vs hp gains. and if it was worth it. Although the stillien Gen 3s seem like a good option. but bloody expensive for maybe 4 more hp over the drop ins.
