Which side did you have trouble with the tab, one side or both? The hole in the tab can be made a little larger in diameter to accommodate more car to car variability.

If I remember correctly one side was good , passenger, but then the other side was about a half inch off. I ended up grinding off the lip on the factory connecting bracket and mounted it that way. Kind of hard to describe on here.
