If you ever do get a CEL, the first thing to check for is an exhaust leak. Exhaust leaks will throw a CEL quickly and easily, but that is also very easy to fix.

If there are no exhaust leaks, CEL's with ART pipes will be extremely rare.
This may also be the cause of the hissing sound I get while on the gas. I will report back.

Its likely just the interaction with the stock exhaust. As with all exhaust parts there is a strong interaction of parts. One part that may hiss when connected to ART pipes wont hiss when a different exhaust is connected.

Different interactions of exhaust parts is normal.

Got mine today. Apparently "Fragile" Means that the Fedex guy should use it as a chair for lunch...I would have said something but I had to have them leave it at my house since I wouldn't be home when it was delivered.

The gaskets were a bit mangled, but i flattened them out and they aren't ripped or anything.

The pipes look great. I just hope they aren't bent a little by whatever squashed the box.

Now I need to find some time to get these installed!

That's terrible.

Where would you like me to send replacement gaskets?

Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same sound Arnold K was having even wiith the new pipes. Started to occur after 200 miles. Sounds like a ball bouncing around in a tin can. It goes away after about 30 seconds on a cold start but can still be heard while driving. Also, a SES light popped up around that time with a P2A03. Will have to take it back to Amp to have them look at it.

370Z JT: Drive the car hard for a few mins. Tell me if the sound goes away. Redline 1st and 2nd. Usually, when I begin to hear the rattle, I'll just goose the throttle in 1st and 2nd a few times, and it stops. If I have a good enough stretch, I'll give 3rd a press too just to heat things up. After that, it doesn't come back for quite a while (over a week usually).

According to Tony this is part of the break-in process. I'm approaching 1000 miles on my 2nd set, so hopefully mine stops for good.

The fiberglass packing material is coated with a varnish like substance. A silicagel spray. It helps to keep the fiberglass from floating around during the packing process. Its the same type of fiberglass and coating that is used in mufflers where it goes through a break in period. This coating goes through 3 phases. 1) fresh from the factory where it is semi-rigid. 2) When it is initially exposed to the water vapor in the exhaust gas the silicagel solidifies the fiberglass to a rigid mass and this lasts for about 1000-1500 miles before it begins to soften back up again. 3) After about 1500 miles the fiberglass begins to soften up again and go back to a soft fluffy fiberglass state again. And this is where it reaches its optimum damping charecteristics.

Through the 3 phase changes you will hear a moderate change in the sound. This is normal. After break in the sound will remain constant and attain a smooth deep burbly rumble.
Its mentioned in the prior page here.
The fiberglass gos through a hardening and softening transition during break in. Give it some time and the fiberglass will soften and then it will dissipate.
