Hi Jon,

Nice work with the exhaust, just wondering if the Fujimura style exhausts will be released soon.

Also, with the tips will there be options like a quad tips available.

Thanks.

Cheers,
KS

It is a point at which the exhaust sounds boomy and you can feel that specific pitch resonating through the cabin. It generally happens between 2,500-3,000 rpm with the 370zs, and is almost reminiscent to deep bass as if you had a subwoofer playing a constant low frequency.

Edit: just to add on, some drone will be gained with a louder exhaust as you simply have less baffling and material in the generally smaller and higher flow mufflers on aftermarket exhausts. That said, some people are more sensitive to drone than others so be aware of that when reading any opinions.

So, can anyone confirm if there is any drone after adding the AAM short tail?

Not trying to criticize the AAM axle-back delete, but buyers need to know what they're in for. I'd recommend this for the guys who drive their car on occasion and want to turn some heads. It would also be cool for the track, but you'd need ear plugs with your helmet. This setup would also be perfect for a roadster as you wouldn't have any of the drone...just the incredible sound. What you can't appreciate in any of the videos is the over-run burble. It's downright sexy.

That being said, I absolutely miss the sound this setup has. If there was a solenoid option to switch between muffled and muffler-bypass, I'd buy it without a second thought. I don't care if it would add 50lbs to the car, it would be friggin' awesome.

This is essentially what you're getting:

Nissan needs to get with GM on that, then, lol.

I ran a a pre-axle dump on my GT and it was rediculous. Would not do it again. That even had mufflers. Sounded great, but like you said, it hurt.

In my experience with AAM the only reliable way to do buisness with them is to call them. When they say they'll call you back, don't wait for them to do so, call them again. The people there are great and they do good work, they just need to do better on reaching out to their customers more reliably.

Oh yeah I will also add if you have an issue with something you purchased from them they will make it right, but you have to be proactive in getting and staying in touch with them.

I just got off the phone with AAM and although nothing is concrete obviously, there would be the possibility of producing a muffled version if there is enough interest. I am waiting on a call back later from them but if you would be willing to purchase a muffled short tail exhaust, please chime in!

What's the point of a muffled version? This guy showed a vid and was very honest about the drone. Our 370s sound great without a muffler but if it produces drone inside the cabin.......Forget it. Maybe they haven't gotten back with the info cuz they found out that it does create drone??? Don't see how doing the washer mod doesn't create drone and this shootin out the back end would.??? Very interested in getting a set of these. They sound great. Won't have to mod my stock set up at the shop I can keep this on the side and swap em out. Anyone put exhaust cut outs yet? That would do both, loud when you want it and stock when you don't. These short tails from aam are a bit pricey though. I can have it done at a shop for $280 straight pipe muffler delete and use my stock tips BUT I won't be able to swap back to stock on occasion. Bet the Short tails would sell more if they were $100 less.
