Yeah the dyno is long overdue I think. Need a baseline stock car and then with these pipes to see the differences, preferably on the same day/car/time before and after install. Should not be hard with such an easily installed part.

Kastley85891 02-09-2011 10:12 AM

Anyone that bought these gone to the dyno...?

AAM prolly to busy with HP builds ;-) be nice though I agree

tonybui 02-10-2011 10:51 AM

Please have this muffler version by the spring or at most, summer. I'm interested !!

Very true. We dyno'ed our shop 370Z when we first designing the pipes, but I think at the time that car had HFCs, Intakes and a Cobb AP. I will have to check the run files on the dyno computer. The shop 370Z has it's engine out right now while we develop our Twin Turbo kit, so we can't use our car to dyno. Most of our Short Tails have been sold outside of our state, so we don't have any immediate local customers who we can put on the dyno. I really wish we did though. I could get before and after for you guys, as well as a dyno video. I think most of the Mid-Atlantic 370Z guys that I know already have exhaust on their car. But if anyone is interested, and you are local to D.C., MD or VA, hit me up!

We'll do our best. We've had a few people ask about offering a muffler option in addition to the regular version. I think I have your email to contact you, but send me a pm just in case.

Thanks,
Jon

Jon - we've got a few new people in the mid-a group recently, might want to post a thread over there looking for a volunteer, Im sure theyd be happy to help. b1adesofcha0s and eastwest2300 come to mind, also I don't think Al has any performance mods yet either.

ps - so wheres my AAM CAI?!?!

40thThree7D 02-13-2011 09:33 PM

Jon, I'd be willing to help you guys out (and I'm 5 mins from the shop)...as long as the tips are oval :)

Nikkolai 03-20-2011 08:40 PM

I am in if a muffler version will be produced. I read that the Megan Axle back are not compatible with factory exhaust system and HKS is a bit much for an axle back.

Red__Zed 03-20-2011 09:16 PM

cool stuff

'10Anamoly 03-21-2011 06:40 PM

I unbolted the Nismo muffler to hear what it sounded like (basically a 2.5" full exhaust with high flow cats and an x-pipe and two resonators). Let's just say that's a drag strip only mod, SOOOO loud. Sounded pretty good, lots of hiss but very race-car sounding. :)

Dreezy562 03-21-2011 06:57 PM

Anyone find dyno or bought then and have an opinion?? Ill getting a tanabe but these sound fun for the weekend, especially if I just weld it myself...

Big J 03-21-2011 08:45 PM

I ordered these today. I'll give my opinion this weekend hopefully.

Kastley85891 03-21-2011 09:15 PM

Muffler delates are loud as **** lol

Big J 03-21-2011 09:37 PM

And that's what I'm going for:) I also have test pipes, btu sorry i'm not taking those off to get a baseline dyno lol.

Jordo! 03-21-2011 10:30 PM

$400 for two flanged tailpipes, huh?

Okay...

Big J 03-29-2011 09:42 PM

So I got these installed and I already have test pipes. It is loud, if you dont want loud, don't get these with test pipes. I'm loving it though, and it has a very deep tone to it as well. I was expecting LOTS of rasp and did not get that with this setup.

Dan Z Man 03-29-2011 10:36 PM

videos???? ^

CATCHINZZZS 03-29-2011 10:47 PM

If so, only low speed; he should pick up some power up top.

Big J 03-31-2011 01:02 PM

I'm sure my stock y pipe is still creating some back pressure.

GZ3 03-31-2011 01:07 PM

from my understanding of the VQ exhuast and scavenging, you shouldnt lose any back pressure after the Y pipe...i may be wrong, if anyone else can chime

CharleyGFX 06-01-2011 07:05 PM

does anyone have a dyno to back these up?

Csquared 06-01-2011 08:54 PM

I know someone dynoed with no muffler and it was like a 3hp gain. I need to find that thread.

VQinside 06-02-2011 06:59 AM

so did they ever come up with muffled versions?
I would appreciate upgrades from these people instead of just letting this
thread just stand here.
:shakes head:

I just wanna hear something period.. This sounds like the cheapest way to go. Since I'm a broke college student!

AJ PwR 06-02-2011 02:24 PM

I think having muffler deletes are meant for sound more than performance. So if you wantmore hp then you should buy the entire system instead.

I just read 13 pages of this and still no dyno?? Sure does sound damn good.

Maila87 07-24-2011 03:28 PM

No dyne yet?

The Dimer 07-25-2011 12:13 PM

Dyno results are not going to be anything to write home about. The thread posted above said people saw an additional 3 horsepower after deleting the mufflers (which is exactly what these pipes do). The main thing these will do is make your car louder, not faster. I don't understand why people are so anxious for a dyno chart.

I dont get it either. The muffler isn't the only restriction in the OEM exhaust.

Maila87 07-26-2011 09:03 AM

I'm curious if is some HP/Torque loss in low RPM. That worries me.

Also, are some alternatives to AAM S-line?

NickTurnon 08-15-2011 05:33 PM

I JUST GOT THIS SETUP-

ITS LOUD-

Much louder than the video on the site.

It rocks though. Absolutely amazing sound at low RPMS and when downshifting.

Pantie-dropper..

Nikkolai 08-21-2011 06:41 PM

I await muffled version or at least with resonators to quiet it down a bit.

somatic 08-22-2011 05:02 PM

can you pm me a price shipphed to 75025>?

RoshDawg 10-08-2011 04:33 PM

I'm waiting for different tips, muffled/resonated version, or at least a price drop. Maybe some 3.5-4" tips to go with the sound. Gloss/flat black options?

LEGA-Z 10-31-2011 12:11 PM

Recently Installed!

They sound amazing! They add a great deep toned rumble... At idle it resonates really nicely. It has a great take off rumble and sounds even better as the RPM's go up. Its a great buy, for someone that wants a little more loudness and lower rumble. And if you add a Y pipe you can get a beastly MONSTER! Like this one here 370z loud. Z34 MONSTER - YouTube. But it is perfect as is, in my opinion... Not too crazy like straight pipes, but decently loud.

Damn, have you to share these pics? Just a few days I convinced me, that Exhaust is not so important. Now have to think about it again! Really nice! pics! :-)

Unique_Z 11-01-2011 05:13 AM

Heres my setup

they definitely sounds good!

tonybui 11-01-2011 08:11 PM

It's been almost a year and I don't see any axle back or different tips lolz
