Identify this part - rear Emission canister shield?

So all in all, that black piece AK pointed out is the "Emission canister shield"? and needs to be removed for a proper installation?? Thanks!

YES and YES! It's held by three 10 mm bolts. I had the exhaust shop take it out. NO more rubbing.
