Fast Intentions Resonated HFC

It makes sense, but I'd still want to know what kind of difference in sound levels we would get from it. I definitely don't want it to be as quiet

It makes sense, but I'd still want to know what kind of difference in sound levels we would get from it. I definitely don't want it to be as quiet (or close to) stock, but if it is still plenty loud and reduces some of the drone, that would definitely be interested to me.

Honestly, I think it would be pretty damn quiet. But, it's hard to say because I don't know what is loud to you, and vice-versa. It'll definitely be louder than stock, but probably not as much. I have the 12" CBE with stock cats, and I still want it LOUDER! I hope you get your answers soon.

Here's what I think...say you ordered the F.I. CBE w/18 res....

(F.I. CBE w/18 res. w/stock cats) < (F.I. CBE w/18 res. w/RHFC) < (F.I. CBE w/18 res. w/HFC)

Like someone said on the previous page, it would be like the same comparison as the F.I. CBE w/o res. vs F.I. CBE w/18 res.

So to answer your question, with a doubt that it will be louder than the stock cats. How much I don't know, but it won't be as loud as the non-res HFCs.

That's the best anyone can say without an official review with video or whatever

I've ordered the FI 18" Res Cbe with carbon fibre cats and also the f.I resonated hfc's (#137).

Tony says it'll be shipped to Australia early to mid next week so I should have it installed in the next 2-3 weeks.

I will post up vids etc the moment it's done.

My guess is that it alters the note of the exhaust, without necessarily increasing the volume. What I'm curious about more than anything else, is whether or not the resonators eliminate the rasp that's so typical of HFCs.

The purpose of the resonators are to cut down on rasp; therefore, cutting down on volume as well. Make sense?

Yes...what I'm saying though is that while I don't think it would be any louder than the stock HFCs, I don't think they would be any quieter either. I assume that resonated HFCs would simply change the "tone" of the exhaust note.

Make sense?

Our resonated high flow cats will be louder than the stock cats. They are OUR quietest option available. They will sound very similar to our high flow cats just slightly quieter. They are designed for the person who wants aftermarket cats with the least amount of sound. The beauty is that since the resonator is straight through the performance is the same as the regular high flow cat!

Bump...Anyone here install the FI RESONATED HFCs ALONG w/ the 18" TDX CBE? I've seen vids/reviews of the combo w/ the standard HFCs...but would like to hear real world feedback on the resonated option.

Thanks!

I'll just say I'm REALLY glad I didn't get the resonated ones. I would've been disappointed if it was quieter than my current setup.

keep in mind quiet is an opinion. my last truck (s/c 4.0 v6) had 3" pipe, with a small 14" muffler, no cats. that was LOUD. i have had the stillen w/ HFC, the F.I W/ HFC, and now im on the F.I 18" with stock cats. i get the most complements on sound with my current set-up. its not ear bleeding loud, but for some, its still louder than they like.

Obviously it's subjective. I was just reflecting back on my previous posts in this thread where I was wondering about the resonated option.

just wanted to throw it out there. didnt want people buying the F.I 18" expecting it to sound "stock".

I'd love to try out some resonated HFC. i only got rid of them to get rid of the hiss they created, but i loved the WOT tone!

Thanks for the opinions guys. Flash...I've watched your vids...you definitely have got a great tone w/ your setup, but I'd love to actually hear the difference w/ resonated HFCs. I guess there may only be one way to tell. Gonna call Tony in the AM...
