If you do intake+headers+hfc+exhaust, then get a tune. If you are only going to do exhaust and hfc you will be fine without a tune. Just make sue to reset

How do you reset the ECU? Also, from what I understand, your warranty cannot be voided unless they find that the problem was a direct cause of your mods. is that true?

Unplug the battery to reset the ECU. And your understanding of warranty is correct. Although that doesn't preclude the possibility of a dealership trying to blame a problem on your mods when they in fact have nothing to do with the problem. People refer to them as "stealerships" for a reason.
