Default Those who installed HFC's, is there a factory gasket between the header and cat?

So I was browsing the 370Z service manual right now and noticed in the the expanded view of the exhaust components, it list gaskets from where the header meets the cat. When I took my factory cats off, I don't recall any gaskets being there. I just put on the gaskets that Berk supplied and tightened everything up. Now I am second guessing myself, could I have double gasket it? Son of a b1tch...

Those who installed HFC's, please tell me there are no gaskets that go between the header and cat from the factory..

Zsteve, I have a serious OCD when it comes to cars, I'll probably take the whole thing off if I had to take those factory gaskets out.

there is a gasket but they are 2 metal compressable ring gaskets that will only work if your catpipes/testpipes have the little .5" extension of tube on the flange. Ialso had to drill out the 1 threaded hole in each header flange to use the new hardware as it is a different thread than the new bolts and i didn't want to use the factory stud of death. if someone did order parts that don't have the extra tube sticking out you better call them up and order some flat gaskets. if you do have the pipe extension head over to your closest parts counter and order the 2 rings from nissan. the old rings should be smashed up on your factory cats and even if you pry them off with a screwdriver they won't be reusable.

edit: that does not look like the picture in my manual it should clearly show the two rings.

edit2: took another look through the manual and that is the picture from the exhaust section and it's wrong look at the picture on EM-34 it is correct

if you are not experiencing any leaks I wouldnt worry about it. thats alot of work to do for something that is working fine anyway.
