Secondly, not everyone knows exactly what drone is, scientifically speaking. Some interpret loud as drone. Others swear that their exhaust has no drone whatsoever when in actual fact, there is so much drone that the inside of the cabin feels like it’s shaking itself apart. Bottom line, there is a fine and subjective line between loud and drone. Good exhaust manufacturers spend a large portion of their R&D budget to find that perfect balance.
This is the most important part to this conversation. I would find myself on the side of "loud is drone", but I do like a loud exhaust. I appreciate everyone not coming in here to attack me about not liking my FI exhaust. In all truth, I really like it, it's just very loud.... too loud for me on long drives.

How much do the exhausts with the helmholtz resonators weigh compared to the competitors? They look heavy at a glance. I’m trying to weigh performance/weight/sound into one decision.

Having both HKS and FI next to each other, I'd say they're about the same...? I'd argue the FI muffler cans are noticibly larger than HKS', but the helmholtz make up for that lost weight. All in all, I'd say theyre within 5lbs of each other.

Hello everyone. Based on this thread I got me the hks catback. Probably gonna get the berk hfc’s as well. Anyone know of a good shop in the Phoenix east valley area for installs? While I am mechanically inclined and could do this myself, I don’t have the jack stands and stuff.
