Default CEL Code - P2A00

Hey, I thought I'd start a new thread to ask if anyone has ever gotten the P2A00 CEL code....

I copped it with the Berk HFC's and Stillen CBE but only after about 1500kms of use.

Has anyone else gotten this code before? and if so, how can I get rid of it?

I've reset it and it keeps coming back every 2 days or so... every time it comes back I die a little more inside.....

It's listed in the service manual but could be caused by a few things (MAF slow response, lean condition...)

It did lean out a little with the HFC's and CBE but I'm not the only one who has done this so I'm confused as to why I'm getting the code....

He all, after thinking this may have been an exhaust leak, I swapped over the gaskets on the cats which has fixed the leak but I still got this code.

I know of one other person on the forums with the code, but would anyone have any idea how get rid of it?

I don't think the steel wool will work as it doesn't appear to be a catalyst code...

you swapped the gaskets on the cats to the headers or the Y pipe? and did you swap them out for the factory metal gaskets or did you swap the factory ones for the ones supplied with the cats ?

I only ask because i just installed my stillen cat backs this weekend. I'm finding another shop to do my cats and gen3's. I'm not confident in the last shops ability. Anyways i re-used the factory metal gaskets from the cats to the Y, and im just making sure this is what everyone else is doing? The instructions called out to use the factory metal gasket.

Edit* Installing my cats and intake this week, ill make a thread post install with pics and videos, hopefully i don't get this code.

I swapped out the gaskets from the headers to the cats as the stock gaskets are only rings and not actual triangular gaskets. The rest of the gaskets are the stock ones. (they are better than the ones supplied)

You probably wont get the code, but I've seen heaps of threads on other forums regarding this code but no solutions......... kinda worries me lol Not that it's bad, it's just annoying...

Hey evse82, it's a bummer you are still getting thsi code mate. Hopefully you can get it sorted soon and find out what actually is causing the damn thing.

As you know i have the Test Pipes instead of HFC's and have had no codes thrown yet at all. I have done some 4k+ since install and all good so far.

weird, I had a CEL code with the HFC's, added the G3's and Stillen CBE, and it went away... odd...

ah crap..... I initially thought that this might be caused from having the stock intakes with HFC's and cat back........ it might actually be because of that now then since your CEL went away after the g3's ..... sigh... Do you know which code you had?

P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1, not the same as yours, so maybe you're still ok.

Yeah mine is a AF lean/rich condition or intake leak etc.... could have been caused by the exhaust leak sucking in O2 onto the sensor but not sure... doesn't explain why it popped up after the leak was fixed... unless the sensor is now damaged

I searched for that code and there is no letters in any codes at all.
See if there was a mistake and I could get you a full description on it.

Yeah it's a weird code, it's correct though, refers to bank 1 sensor 1 Air mixture performance/range issue. It can't be running lean cod on the dyno it was still rich...

So most likely the MAF sensor but don't know if it could be a combination of the sensors either, like the o2 sensor on the HFC's spitting a lean condition between itself and the maf sensors.....

Yeah lol.... there are so many threads on the net from other forums (350z, sentra even trucks lol) heaps of people get them, start the threads and then it just looks like they vanish without closure haha

I've sent messages to a few of them but so far no one has replied.... maybe they just sold off the cars after losing their minds lol

Default I had same code...

I also got the same code with HFC ( 150cell )...
I think that we need rear O2 sensor adapter to avoid this fault code.
