Default Fumes

Need some advice. I installed z1 hfc and a catback exhaust. I used the z1 gaskets on the hfc with no rtv since it’s not recommended. I’m getting fumes in my cabin whenever the HVAC is on, recirculate or not. I took it to two different exhaust shops, one says that I have a leak at the manifold to cat flange because all the aftermarket gaskets are ****, and the other shop found no leak. The only recommendation the 2nd shop said was to check the cabin filter but I put one in roughly 6mo ago. I have found nothing from searches so I’m pretty clueless. I figured I might just have to get back under and rtv the gaskets.

I also have a Stillen g3 so I was thinking maybe there’s a cracked line from the pcv system but couldn’t find any.

No one is having luck with the Z1 gaskets. The first shop is right. Most are recommending the FI gaskets... I need to pick up a set myself.

Figures... I used those when I had test pipes, thought I had a leak then so I figured I should try out z1’s but I guess that wasn’t the case, probably just from the test pipes themselves. I asked FI, but is RTV recommended to use with these as well?

Third time I’m trying to make this right...

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate luck. You are not the first person I have heard that had exhaust leaks with the Z1 exhaust gaskets. Try the FI or AAM exhaust gaskets they are great quality and I have had really good luck using them. Try to find a reputable exhaust shop to bring your Z to.
