Default Z1 High Flow Cats Review/Complaint

Since I didn't find any reviews other than the 2 perfect ones on their site, and my review probably won't be posted on their site, I decided to put in my opinion of these here.

So a week after installing these I get a SES light... I ran test pipes for a year, so not sure whats going on there.

Also the support bracket does not bolt up to these.

I'm not very impressed with these and I feel like I've wasted $400 just to avoid my car smelling.

Heard great things about Fast Intentions HFCs.

That might have been the better option... or just dealing with the raw smell of exhaust

There's always a rare case scenario where you do get a CEL, even with Fast Intentions. They do say, however, that a tune should fix it.

Got the code ran. Came back with p0158, but I can’t find any way to narrow it down. What codes do people usually throw with high flow cats?

Yea not sure what to say there. It’s just stupid I run test pipes for a year with no issues, then throw these on and get a code almost immediately. Probably some quality control issue. Most likely won’t use their products anymore

Z1 is a very reputable company, not too sure why but probably some quality control issue like you said. Did you check the O2 sensor to see if it needs replaced? If it doesn’t need replaced then a tune will fix the issue. Hope you figure it out.

I haven’t checked the sensors but might. I figured it would be pointless because doesn’t a tune just basically tell the ecu to disregard those sensors? I appreciate your input tho

I had a SES light issue after install and it ended up being an exhaust leak unrelated to the parts. It was an install issue. Might want to hook up and ECU reader to see if that's the issue.

That’s the only code I got. I don’t think that’s the one for a leak

Do you have a pic of the bracket not matching up? Could be that you needed to keep the bolts loose until everything lined up then tightened it down. It could also explain your code. Just some suggestions.

No I don’t. I tried that while I was installing it but didn’t care since it’s just a support bracket and nothing else. I’m 99% sure that has anything to do with a code for Oxygen Sensor Circuit high Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2).

One more thing to add when working in that area...”No Impact Wrenches”
Shock/vibrations can damage AFR/O2’s.
