It's a waste if you have to pay for it. If you buy a bunch of burrs and DIY it while you install the turbo kit, it's worth doing. Nothing any of the shops who offer this are doing anything special that you can't do in your garage with some patience.

Value is unique to each and everyone of us. I am not mechanically inclined so it maybe worth it for me to pay for it or better find someone like you that might do it for me as long as I supply the beer.

Though I 100% agree with you I wouldn't make a blanket statement like that. You can seriously F-up your intake if you don't know what you are doing and go to town on your runners and plenum. Not to mention if you jack up your blending near the valves you can kiss your nice running engine goodbye. It's easy to take material away, much harder to put it back.
