Anyone been thrown a CEL with Berk HFC's?

Forgive the noob question, as I'm just starting to read about exhaust systems, but why would you use test pipes? Doesn't that guarantee a fail in emission testing, or do

Doesn't that guarantee a fail in emission testing, or do you just swap them out for the stock cat when you test?
