Depends on which dictionary you use. Oxford may give you something different. For US, that means:

After he runs out of promises (done)
After he swore to himself not to jump the gun and get screwed by engineering department (done)
After he thought better to avoid this thread until he has something concrete to answer (avoidance still somewhat in progress)
Then some more waiting
