The silence is deafening.......

Just spoke to AAM, we should have an official update here shortly.

In other words ... soon

My fellow enthusiasts, we have received our first batch of Intake Manifolds! We are finalizing the finish, as the vibra-polish finish was not up to our standards.

We plan to have the completed units in our hands by mid – late September, and dyno numbers shortly! ;)

Chuck33079 08-08-2016 05:09 PM

Yep, wait some more. Well done AAM. Just when we think you might actually make good on this thing, you tell us it's still not done.

TreeSemdyZee 08-08-2016 05:12 PM

One of my dad's sayings comes to mind. 'Cart before the horse".
Probably would have been a good idea to develop before advertising. This could be a great product, but delays have created a lot of angst.

Yep, blowing their wad too soon, taking money and back pedaling for six months makes them look like GTM. This will probably be a good part, but this should be a Harvard business school case on how not to launch a product.

Except this case is probably too stupid to make into HBS cases...they took money without even a working prototype...AAM didn't even iron out the logistics and QC before making the announcement.

Michael, was this your bright idea to jump the gun or your boss made you do this? And yes, I would ask the same question in the same tone if I meet you in person.

NeverBoneStck 08-08-2016 06:39 PM

History starting to repeat itself. Hopefully u guys get it by next Jan. The delays just keep on rolling.

V1H 08-10-2016 12:36 AM

Im one of them who paid in full 7 months ago.
Spoke with AAM. First batch of finalized units is ready but the finish isn't to AAM's high standards. Delays with 3rd party manufacturers has been holding up AAM's schedule. Been largely beyond their control. Expected completion: end of September.
They are gonna come, and personally Im happy to wait until the product is top notch quality

Whatever, manifold is manifold. Patience is a virtue my friends! Not like anyone here needs it so badly that their life will be ruined if they don't get it soon.

I'm waiting to see some dyno numbers first!

I have one enroute, arriving on Monday, will post some detailed photos :)

The first one in UK, will be supplied to our customer the same day.

Chuck33079 08-19-2016 06:58 AM

So, if customer orders are being filled, where the F are the results we were promised?

octet 08-19-2016 07:10 AM

You guys are never happy :(

Not when we've been promised results from AAM for a long time, and the only results we'll ever see come from customers. It's just shady. I hope it makes power. We need a good intake manifold option. But this whole product rollout has been a complete goatfuck.

octet 08-19-2016 01:12 PM

Any of you running a business which deals with R&D and manufacturing? Is not that easy as you think :)

Even Apple, the biggest and richest company in the world fails on supply, launch date, has hardware problems etc :)

Paaaaaaatience :)

No, the right way to do this would have been to not give hard dates and take money that early in the process. It'll probably be a good part, but this is a major marketing fail. They said this was almost ready in January. Now they're sending out units before any test results have been released. You don't need to defend them. They're big boys. They've fumbled the ball every time they touched it.

Not even a fair comparison...

mults 08-19-2016 02:56 PM

Hey guys, I'm prototyping a driveshaft with propellers on the outside that promises to decrease your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times significantly...Anyone who wants to jump at this promotion needs to send me your money now as supplies are very limited.

Once prototyped, I will post results, but until then, send me your money ASAP. Test results will be forthcoming once I receive the funds and product from our manufacturing facility.

EDIT: This feature is NOT AVAILABLE for lowered vehicles as the propellers will most likely contact the ground, speed bumps, and most other obstructions...:inoutroflpuke:

I know that I am being facetious, but it sounds like what AAM is promising...AAM does make quality products (my friend at work has a TT 350Z and it is a real beast). Let's hope that those who have pre-ordered get what they paid for and all are happy with their product and results...

I just wanted to inject some levity in this thread and am not bashing AAM (I want their TT for mine at some time).

Kris9884 08-20-2016 05:04 PM

As much as the delays have turned me off I'm still very interested in the results. I'm thankful there have been others before me fortunate and ballsy enough to fund them up front for the rest of us to wait by and see how it turns out. Hats off to you guys.

It is extremely easy NOT to take money from customers without a developed product. The money for R&D should come from an investing partner or owner.

Terrible analogy. Apple doesn't foot their R&D costs with customer purchases of products that aren't yet on the market.

You're reading a different story, my friend. Try reading it again.

Any better this time? Don't rush!

My reading comprehension is just fine, thank you :tiphat:

I particularly enjoyed your irrelevant, hyperbolic comparison of AAM and Apple.

brucelidat 08-21-2016 08:59 PM

Just saw this thread, sub'ed for results if they're ever posted

Elmo370z 08-22-2016 01:14 AM

Another intake manifold is in the making and has been confirmed. No idea when it will be released.

AAM Competition VQ37 Intake Manifold Pre-sale!!!

Am I just being picky or does anyone else think that for 2k the exterior milling should be cleaned off?
And maybe the carbon fiber being placed properly?

rwnielsen 08-24-2016 11:31 PM

Looks like an unfinished casting.

It's a $2k part. You should be just as picky. Is the inside of it cleaner than the outside?
