Wide band on stock catalytic converter

Why can't he put one in the mid pipe? At the dyno they get their values from an exhaust enema. I've even seen it as just 2" in.

That's just for reference and not that accurate. These cars have wide bands and what the tuner will be using for tuning. Every car I've ever had tuned never went off the tail sniffer. We ALWAYS welded in a bung up front as close as possible or about 6" back from a turbo.
