I bought it because it's a kick *** platform. It's a lot more fun driving my Z, than an EVO or an STi. It drives more like a real sports car, instead of putting a rocket inside an econobox. I've driving my buddy's EVO many times, and it's so much quicker, but the car gets so light as you drive fast, and the handling is crap. But I do get smoked by EVOs. NISMO 370Z goes a lot slower than it looks. Vette, Viper, Challenger SR8, they all pull up next to me and wanting to race, and not that I want to street race, but it's sad that I don't stand a chance. I do have concerns with putting too much power into this car and it may make things not driveable, and turn it more of a drifting machine. I rather do autoX and track days. I don't need more power for autoX and track days.

![]() Get an oil cooler, cat-back, intake, test pipes and a tune. Then autoX it and have some fun. Most guys with big bad scary cars can't drive them anyway.

A Z, 350 or 370, is a niche car. People buy them because they love the balance, look, history, and combo out good handling, sporty performance etc. No one buys a Z because its a great platform to make boatloads of power or be the king at High Performance Driving Events on a track. There's always something faster out there. I had that concern when I was 18 years old. Otherwise being the fastest thing on the street isn't why I buy anything anymore. I had a b20 vtec 1995 Civic hatchback, that was faster than my 370z in a straight line, but I wouldnt trade one for the other. I've never in my life heard someone refer to an Evo's handling as "crap". They are dynamic high performance platforms shaped like a loaf of bread, but the handling is some of the best you can buy, never mind adding in upgrades. To bring a 370z reliably to the track, for driving events, start with a large oil cooler, upgraded brake pads, high temp brake fluid, and tires that won't turn to grease after a few laps. Good luck building a 370z with a twin turbo kit, and having it survive an HPDE day or two. Apples and oranges. Driving events are about improving the driver, not the car. Have you ever done an HPDE? You sound all over the place.
