Default Intake Temps?

This is really just a question of morbid curiosity, but what kind of temps are you guys seeing out of your intakes? Anyone feel free to chime in, stock or otherwise. I was watching my temps today and was just wondering what other people are seeing.

Depends on the temperature outside and if you're idling or cruising but right now I'm in the 90's when going slow or stopped and about 10 degrees less when on the highway

Yeah ~90C in traffic with CAI and air temp was in the mid 80s F. Cruising it's just about 10C or less above air temps. I think the high idle temps are because of heat transfer from the intake tubes in the engine bay.

How are you monitoring intake temps?

FWIW, that temperature reading comes from the MAF sensor.

Ever since installing an engine oil cooler, my intake temps increased by about 5-8 degrees F. While cruising on the highway my IAT was about 14 degrees above ambient and about 24 above ambient while city driving.

I modified the stock intake boxes to draw air from inside the front of the nose instead of from above the radiator and oil cooler. Now IAT is 5 degrees F above ambient on the highway and 8 degrees above ambient in city driving.

This has made a huge difference in responsiveness on hot days, especially off the line in city driving. The nose area doesn't fill up with hot air as much while sitting at a red light or in slow moving traffic. I'll post a pic when I get home.

That's the sensor that reads it, which is relayed to the ECU across the can bus. Dash command isn't hardlined directly to the MAF sensor as would say a DEFI gauge that reads oil pressure that would be wired directly to the oil sending unit.
