Avg installation price for exhaust system?

The motordyne one is so much more annoying than other exhausts because of the stupid clamps instead of the typical flanges..

My FI 12" and HFC's come in in a few weeks. I called a shop to get a price for both to be installed. He quoted me $196. Maybe this isn't too bad for both? I usually do any car work myself. Just been to busy lately to do so.

Stock cats are a pita to remove (demon bolts) so 196 to install both is a freaking good deal!

I think I paid around 250 to have my test and catback installed together.

I paid $150 for test pipe install. Didn't pay anything for my exhaust install, did that myself.

Awesome. I've read about these demon bolts, one reason I wanted someone else to do it. Wasn't going for HFC's right away, but figured I may as well if I am getting the exhaust. Thanks!

I ended up installing it myself. Took two days and a combined 4 hrs. Two days because of demon bolts necessitating a run to Harbor Freight to pick up the breaker bar and a wide assortment of sockets and adapters. Got two massive headaches from the PB Blaster.

Motordyne instructions specify in-lb torque adjustments on the clamps and ft-lbs on everything else. Did not read the in-lb so overtightened a clamp and busted that as well, need a new one for $25.

But finally got it on and sounds great.

If I did it again I would look for a lift.

Jesus. I just got quoted $320 for my FI CBE. I guess exhaust installs have gone up 200% in about 6 years lol

Definitely going to try installing this in my own garage. I have all the basic tools, just need to find a buddy that is free.

Places around here charge anywhere from $100-500 to install an exhaust. Anywhere in the $150-200 range seems reasonable depending on your location.
