A few dumb questions

1. An aftermarket Xpipe or Ypipe is legal. I'm sure you can find a rule saying that these are illegal in some form or another, but for all intents and purposes they will be 100% legal.
2. They are much higher flowing replacements to the restrictive OEM cats. They are an EASY 10-20rwhp gain depending on the type of dyno you use. I haven't seen anyone make less than 10hp to the tire, even on the smaller VQ35HR motor.

Too bad they're not legal here in California! What's the point of saving the environment if you can't enjoy it?

I hear ya buddy.

The most I'll probably end up modding to my engine or already have done will be: intake and exhaust. Maybe pulleys.

Aside from that now I'm concentrating on my suspension.

Same here--I'm going to Fast Intentions on Friday to have an exhaust and a Stillen 3 put on. Woohoo!

As we dont have carbon laws here in South Africa we are able to decat our cars and not have to worry about passing tests.
I was quoted to remove all OEM cats (1 in downpipe and two on exhaust i think)??
What affect do you think this will have in terms of power and noise???

There is 1 cat in each downpipe (aka the cat). There are no cats in the exhaust, just 2 resonators and the muffler.
