You wont notice 4 to 5 hp gains on the butt dyno but do you feel the throttle response is better? Plus when you get the CGE the better flowing intake will help the exhaust too.

Installed the K&N's this afternoon. I only took the Z for a short drive, but throttle response does seem to be a bit better. From inside the car I can't tell a difference in sound under acceleration. I will report back after a few hundred miles.

drop ins and modshack vent diy should get good results for litlle $$$$$. drop ins get about 4-5 hp gains alone and the diy vent should gain a couple extra with the better air flow to stock box. I plan on doing the diy in the near future and thats it for my intake till the SC.

I got mine at Pep Boys. Down here most everything's more expensive (transportation charges+politicians' duties/taxes!) than at the Continental U.S. I have no regrets on the drop in unit, so far. BTW, the throttle response IS better, now that you mention it. I hadn't thought of it...The power band does feel more beefed up, if I may use that expression! The extra MPGs was my main concern, though (I'm 60 years old). Greetings!

Put mine (K&N) in yesterday and noticed a very subtle (very slight) difference. I need to drive the car a little more to really figure how much of a difference.
After 16k miles the old (OEM) filters looked pretty bad...yuk, glad to toss those. I really like being able to clean and re-use the K&Ns......nice.

From the info' provided by some of the more knowledgeable dudes here, the difference seems to be in the torque power band; a slight improvement, still an improvement. Where I did notice a sweet difference, was in the MPG. I went from 11-12 days on a tankful, to 14-15! That, in and of itself, justifies the modest investment.
