Up coming Intake manifold testing .

Hi guys ,
In the coming weeks I'll be testing the M370 and a ported G37 manifold by (Synergy) Scott. I will not be changing anything other than the manifold on the compassion runs , then I'll be loading in a "new" tune on the ported Stock manifold.
So to summarize I'll be making 5 runs with my current set up

ARK cat back- Z1 HFC's-Takedas-M370Z-tuned.

Then swapping in the ported G37 manifold and making 5 runs. And will compare them. Then 3 end runs after I load in my new tune for the ported stock manifold.
All in all should take me about a month.
I'm making my tunes M370 runs next weekend and 3 weeks or so later I'll go back and make the Ported G37 manifold runs and final tuned runs. Reason being I s need time to swap manifolds and I refuse to pay to have something done I can do . Thank you

370Z JT 01-24-2015 11:59 AM

Looking forward to results thanks! The ultimate would be testing what a stock unported manifold and Z1 ported manifold as well so we can see all 4 comparisons.

DEpointfive0 01-24-2015 12:12 PM

The dyno shop won't let you leave the car strapped and work on it? (Change the manifold)

ANMVQ 01-24-2015 12:24 PM

Thy would leave it strapped down but if have to pay to have them swap the manifold . I'd have to go back anyways after I get retuned for the ported stock manifold. I don't use a local tuner (ETune) from a member here ;) .

Ok, my shop will let me work on the car strapped down

ANMVQ 01-25-2015 09:25 AM

I'll ask my shop on Monday, Maybe they'll either let me swap it or cut me a deal and flipping them around. We'll see what they say.

ANMVQ 02-04-2015 07:51 AM

Got my stock intake over the weekend and shipping it out to (Synergy) Scott today. My dyno shop is going to let me swap the mani while the car is on the dyno, So I will have true back to back runs.

NeverBoneStck 02-04-2015 10:27 AM

How does the work look on the mani?

ANMVQ 02-04-2015 12:52 PM

Didn't have the work done yet. I just shipped it out to him today, I bought a used stock intake as I didn't have mine anymore. I WILL have a full write up and pics, I took pics of the stocker before I shipped it and I will compare pics with the M370 also :)

Japanjay 02-04-2015 06:54 PM

Can he do the upper and lower?

ANMVQ 02-04-2015 08:41 PM

He does do both but I don't have a stock lower to send him. If I get one I will send it to him. Either that or I'll trade my M370 for a ported lower ;)

Japanjay 02-05-2015 05:27 PM

How can I get in contact with Scott?

ANMVQ 02-09-2015 07:24 AM

Opps sorry man, He's on here , He has the a thread CNC TB's etc,

LAVA 02-10-2015 05:55 PM

sub'd, is there a difference between the 370 and G37 manifolds?

ANMVQ 02-25-2015 11:43 AM

My mani arrived this morning will be checking it out tonight when I get home, Pics will be posted.

PharmDZ 02-25-2015 01:21 PM

Can't wait to see. Have the M370 right now. Awaiting TBs from Scott and also getting some tuning done.

APT set for 9AM, on April 4th :) @ Granite State , I will be only doing the M370 and will have to go back in a few weeks after I swap the ported stock mani.

ANMVQ 04-03-2015 07:43 AM

24 hrs away guys any thoughts ?

2011 Nismo#91 04-03-2015 08:40 AM

It's been over 2 months I think most people have had time to express their thoughts.

ANMVQ 04-03-2015 08:46 AM

even worse this morning, Made the pulls on the M370 252 WHP and 221 WTRQ super low dyno jet, Since on the last dyno I have was 285 on a mustang. But I wasn't look for numbers just what the gains were if any. SO we went to flip the G37 ported mani over to find out it was also a M370 :/ WTH man, So now I'm selling the ported M370 and need to get a G37 Stock ported one, headache man

So you lost power with the m370?

-Raj

370Z JT 04-04-2015 01:09 PM

Didn't want to see what a ported M370 can do? That would've been interesting as well.

No different dyno my other dyno numbers are not comparable, but he said stock cars put down about 225 WHP on there dyno.
I was trying to see what the ported stock vs the M70 numbers were

mag_black 04-04-2015 05:16 PM

I was interested in seeing gains too. Too bad, if I would've known, I would let you use my Z1 manifold. I'm 20 mins from Granite State.

Jordo! 04-04-2015 05:30 PM

Hmm. Yeah, you can't really compare any Mustang dyno to a dynojet.

Would you mind sharing your drf's with me for my database after you re-dyno? The shop should be able to give you them either on a thumb drive or email them to you.

I can make whatever graphs you want in exchange :)

If that's cool by you, let me know and I'll PM you my email

LAVA 04-04-2015 05:52 PM

Why didn't you run It on the same dyno you had it tested on before? apples to apples is what we want to see

ANMVQ 04-04-2015 07:17 PM

Jordo I'm pm you know ,

The coppariosn was going to be on this dyno , the place I used was booked till the end
Of the month and got itchy :( . The run I made a few months ago at 285 WHP was with the M370 ( Mustang Dyno) and the only thing I've added was the Takeda cold airs. I will most likely go back to my place in a week or so with the Z1 on the car to see to WHP diffence . I wanted to try to do it all in one day for you guys but eh

LAVA 04-05-2015 12:22 PM

oh ok, well keep us posted

ANMVQ 04-06-2015 07:09 AM

I will, The Z1 will be here this week, and will be slapping it on and try to hit the dyno this Saturday morning.

ANMVQ 04-06-2015 10:58 AM

So figured out why the dyno was 70 WHP less than my buddies 370Z, The had the rolls for a full time AWD ;/. I find it that a lot of places dont realize the AWD on infiniti is not a full time and the car really drives as a RWD car, :/. No worries I'm making a stop at "my place" before I got back to them for my ported lower intake install and runs on May 15th. The Z1 intake is going on this weekend.

Actually, I was wondering about that -- if you can't send 100% of the power to the rear wheels you'll need a AWD dyno...

That said, you'll still get usable values from the 2WD dynojet.

In fact, I can make a comparison graph of yours vs others to get a sense of the extent to which the power estimates differ between 2WD and AWD VQ37HR's.

What would you need from me? From what I've seen, being on other dynos is there no realy difference , Ex : I made 300 WHP and 222 WTRQ on my 2011 X coupe, with Intakes, cat back and tune. RWD Coupes make similar numbers on the same machine, (Mustang dyno) The only "real" difference would be auto VS manual IMO

370Z JT 04-12-2015 11:21 AM

Did you go yesterday?
