I just got my tbs done by maxbore, ported upper and lower from synergy. I have to schedule a re-tune at r/t and Ill post my gains as well.

Cool man, Yea I just called and talked to Erik, Nice guy, But I cant go there, They only do weekdays, I work Monday-Fri and it like a 10hr round trip for me. No way am I doing that one a week day ;/

So with some drive time behind the wheel I can say this is worth it ! There is definitely something there the exhaust note has changed , More burble, car builds up quicker and more( Seat feel) and top end really feels more of a swell ( If I’m saying that right) it feels like a level off like its flying? LOL. I also made 2 runs before I lost the DAMN OBDII plug for my UPREV and the cars lean up top, 13’s. So the there is more flow as I was around 12.1-12.3 before I swapped over the ported lower. I have a dyno set for June 6th at 9am so we’ll see. But if you can get this done I’d say do it.
My dyno is set for may 29th at 9am so ill update here too, i can feel it on my car too. The throttle response is much better the engine just overall breathes better, the midrange to upper part of the power band is where it can be felt.
Do any of you guys have headers?
I don't the power gain doesn't justify the cost and work for me lol
Just so you guys know I made 309 whp and 259 ft lbs with stillen g3s, ark catback, and cnt test pipes last year. Since then Ive installed nst under drive pulleys, jwt clutch and flywheel, tbs bored, and upper and lower ported. I dont expect the flywheel and nst pulleys to contribute much so this should still be a good idea on about how much these manifolds and tbs pick up. |
I don't have headers either, Same reason, price of the header cost on install+ added noise ( I'm old) LOL not worth it to me. :/
June 6th dyno coming with etune touch up ,Z1 mani and ported lower
I may get on the dyno before you. My lower comes in tomorrow from Shawn @ Synergy (the actual real company in Indianapolis IN, not the guy still using the name in Columbus OH) , but cant go get tuned till the 2015 nismo kit gets painted and installed. Last piece to that came in today.
Well I'm glad the guy I hired to promote the work and money I invested with dyno's is still making money off of what I set up and paid for ;)
And still trying for a name change after a few weeks. |
Googling Synergy doesn't come up with you or columbus, just sayin. You built a very bad rap on here fyi. I was just up by Zspeed a few weeks ago btw. This your site? http://www.synergycomposites.net/ I called the number on this site.

Like I said, I started this because I did it first and people wanted me to continue and for me to test it. I paid for the testing, a guys uprev fees, 2 dozen sets of TB's, upper and lowers etc! I'm a guy in his garage is all. I found a porter to do the work and I would do the communication and selling. It was fine till my parts started selling without me knowing or getting paid. So I find it hard to believe I hurt my rep when called out by that buyer who got my stuff and never paid me for my parts, only paid the porter for his porting. The porter had the store front so we used that together as he conntacted me on Facebook wanting a part in this as he has done it before. Now we are done and I'm doing it by myself back in his garage. I never said I was part of his business besides us splitting the money and us helping each other get our parts out there. He can continue to port but I have all the cores. You can pick who you want, that's capitalism! I'm selling fine on here and others and FB. I've been trying to change my SN since this has all happened and it will be soon.
Mmmmm that's funny. I am the buyer in question. You did receive all your parts and I even offered to pay the difference of what was not paid to you. The problem is between you and Sean. But, what is funny is you never ever paid me back for the M370 that I had to pay for upfront.. Something for you to think about!!
IBTL lol
Are we going to start dragging out all the dirty laundry again!
Lets just get some testing done and be done |
Scott, I have a second core, out of curiosity, say I send one to you to get a comparison between you and shawns work, do you need anything besides the core ie: hardware, etc and will I just receive the core back?

Scott, my second plenum went out to you yesterday It'll be there on Friday. Very interested in seeing the difference in yours to the local place that did the one on the car now.
Did he need you to send anything besides the core, like hardware?
No just sent him the lower plenum. He's porting mine. maybe miss spoke didnt mean core sorry. I sent him one to port and send back
Its missing something for it to be done to its best flow rate.

I put the Z1 upper, Z1 25 row oil cooler with thermostatic switch, Shawn from synergy's lower, HKS GTR heat range 9 spark plugs gapped to .030, FUKU Works Upper and lower radiator hose. Havent driven the Z in 3 months, runs awesome. Goes to paint this week to blend in the panels along with the 2015 nismo front, skirts, and aerojacket rear spats. Driving to Portland when done for a retune. Then once back, time to put on the XP10's and XP8's, Z1's new slotted design front and rear 2 piece rotors, stainless brake and clutch lines, motul 600.

1 Attachment(s)
Well i got retuned today ended up with 317whp and 266 ftlbs, not as much as i expected but i did gain throughtout the whole powerband. Attachment 103880
309-259 baseline was what you had last year before the mods. So the new mods pretune, you made the same power?
No they didnt print out my baseline this time but he said it was 306 so i basically lost power thats compared to last year on the sheet
Nice thanx man, I'll be out that wat on the 6th. Auto Dynamics for a tune.
Lost WHP i doubt it to many factors for that such a small amount, I can tell you how mine comes out. I will go back the dyno I have been using for his whole thing after my tune. So we can compare apples to apples
Yeah i was skeptical too unless my motor isnt healthy, i may do a compression test
for 3 WHP stop it man LOL ,
You gained everywhere, What'd you think you'd make 330? I that's I HIGH number for us. The ones I see I think are just on a high dyno. Remember these re just numbers. You proved you mods made power just be happy. :) |
Yeah im not upset the car feels great, but i may still do one to be safe.
Oh I may also be getting 1/4 mile times today.

Going to have to go with Scott on this one. Made more power for sure, don't know all what you have done all together or before this tune compared to after. Would be nice to see the graphs from the previous to see if the whole power band went left. I made 316std on just Gen3's, z1 tests, tomie y & y-back. All the way to 8k I was increasing in power. I can say I went on 2 different dynos in 2 different states and they were identical in power. STD correction and Smoothing of 5. I went by the paint shop yesterday to provide more detailed pictures of the 2015 nismo paint job regarding cut off lines and such, so when that gets done and I get the XP10's and 8's in and throw on the 2 piece front and rear rotors I am heading 3 hrs for the tune. Probably looking at 3 weeks from now I figure to see what the new lower, z1 upper, green filters, and heat range 9 HKs plugs do.
1. Everyone should look at SAE as well as STD; STD tends to inflate estimates on N/A cars.
2. Also take note of weather, air pressure, and actual correction factor value. Expect massive losses with higher heat and humidity that will not be perfectly compensated for by any correction factor. 3. Keeping the above two points in mind, you should be able to make reasonably good comparisons between dynojets. Dynojets calculate hp based on the rate the drum is accelerated; tq is reverse calculated on the basis of hp with a dynojet. Nismolucino, you do not need to do a compression test. Your motor is fine. Also, that's just from TB's and a tune? Those are excellent gains. |
Thats from tbs, ported upper and lower, under drive pulleys, and clutch and flywheel (which i know doesn't add power) thats all the changes Ive done this year. What bothers me is that my friend had his nismo tuned today right after me at r/t. He has fi catback, test pipes, and stillen g3s and put down 316 whp and 259 ftlbs. However even though my hp is lower than expected, my car is putting down a decent amount of torque. Im still going to do the compression test just to be safe. I did go to the track today but it didnt go well so the times aren't even worth mentioning. Im still dialing in the grab point with my csc elimination kit and it was the first time at the track with it. I have clutch engagement issues, I cant power shift into 2nd or 3rd, but it does fine when I ease into the gears. All the times I power shifted it locked me out of 3rd and I grinded 2nd one time. Im thinking I may have to remove my rjm clutch pedal, it may be too much adjustment now with the adjustable external slave cylinder. Im going to try swapping my factory pedal and see if that changes anything.
these are the mods Stillen Gen 3 Intakes Bored Throttle Bodies by Maxbore Ported Upper & Lower Intake Manifold by Synergy ARK Grip V2 Catback Exhaust W/ Burnt Tips CNT Racing Resonated Test Pipes NST Underdrive Pulleys that dyno graph shows my current numbers compared to last years dyno graph(thats what the lower lines are, not today's baseline) Last year the mods were Stillen Gen 3 Intakes ARK Grip V2 Catback Exhaust W/ Burnt Tips CNT Racing Resonated Test Pipes and with that I put down 309whp and 259 ftlbs. Im curious as to why my power drops too scott. It was like that last tune too so its not something to do with the new mods. Im starting to lean towards the test pipes. |
