That's actually a very ignorant statement and many people living here would take offense to that.

Went there for my 50th last Oct. "Hawaii 50" I was Great! If U island hop Go see Maui and try Road to Hana and rent a "nice" car. The twisties are awsome!
Start early , it will take U all day to see the sites on the way up, beautiful place!
