hopefully .. hey definitionxmk, since you are in the same situation as i am (bringing a car from cali.) can we start doing the paperwork even if the car is not here yet? as far as registration and all that? .. do you know how much is it?

Has anybody heard about what's goin on with the spocom show this Saturday? I've been keepin tabs on the website, which says stay tuned for more info but there's never anything new. I'm not trying to enter my car, being that it's stock, I'm just wondering what the ticket prices are like or if there will be any decent Z's to go drool over. Im sure it'd be fun regardless but I'm mainly lookin for new ideas for my baby. Are any of you guys gunna be there? Is there a possibility of a meet afterwards? Besides installing my spoiler I've got nothing to do this weekend.

I haven't heard anything but I know a few of the VQinc guys are entering. I know there won't be a 370 there at all as I'm usually the only one that enters... I really hope I get proved wrong! It would be nice to see an Amuse or a Zele Z in there =)

Check out the VQ I.N.C. page on facebook for their meets and stuff... recently, a member and good friend of mine passed away on the 1st (last sunday) so folks are kinda sensitive still. But if you want a 370 meet and greet, I am down!

Checked out the VQ inc page. Guess they had a meet yesterday but I was at the concert on Schofield all day. I'm sorry to hear about ur friend as well. If they need anything to help the banner get to his family quicker I'd love to help.
A 370 meet would be awesome, the only 370 owners I know are in my battalion. Ones a female chaplains assistant who likes her sports pack the way it is, the other guy has a '10 the exact same color as mine. Dont know him too well tho. Just name the time and place or we can meet up at the next VQ inc meet.

First thing you need to get is Safety. And they are going to need your car for it... plus that Hawaii insurance card/registration/shipping bill of lading to pass.

If you have aftermarket suspension, or something crazy; you're going to need recon. which is a bitch... hopefully you don't need it.

after you get that, then you bring everything to the DMV (satellite city hall is what they call it) with your safety slip and all the other forms to get it registered. If you're in the military, you're going to need that "non-residency" form so your registration jumps down to 20 something bucks vice 200 something. But only if you want hawaii plates... if you go out of state, it'll cost you the norm 200 something.

Loop hole: The shipping company gives you a bill of lading good for 30 days or so for registration. So you technically can be out of safety spec and run your out of state plates until those 30 days are up. so if your car needs recon, you make an appointment (which is usually booked for a month) and show up for the inspection. if you fail, they give you a notice for such and such days for you to fix it. Basically extending your out of state, no safety requirements until you get recon. Pretty crazy, eh? So technically you can keep going forever as long as you keep showing up at the recon place and getting extensions.

The only reason why i didn't do this in the first place was because my base stickers expired. in order to get new base stickers, you need up to date safety and registration. so yeah... I'm sure you don't have to do all that

safety is a bitch to get done....even with the slightest mods. some places are super picky and some will let you slide with some stuff. it took me 2 weeks to get mine safety checked.

Dont get safety near any of the bases... They usually dont let anything slide. Especially the hobby shop by pearl harbor x_x
