LOL I have done plennnnnty of times!

Any chance I can get in on the piston/rod combo?

phunk 02-24-2014 05:04 PM

Its not too late yet... but it will be by before the end of the week. I just called and spoke to them, and they are in the tail end of "engineering" for my custom piston job number and will be in production very soon. Anything ordered now, they are saying would be ready to ship in the same 2-3 weeks from now as my personal set for my engine that I ordered 4 weeks ago.

Heres the details again for my piston specs for anyone who wants to get in last second:

2618 alloy, .020 over, 10:1 compression, compatible with HR and VHR heads. HD .250 wall 9310 steel pins.

$1200 for the piston set with rings and pins. More if you want coatings ($25 per piston per coating) or gas ports ($16 per piston).

$1725 for the set of Carrillo H Beam rods.

If somehow 2 people get in on this right now, price drops to $975 pistons and $1400 rods.

plus shipping and paypal/cc fees as I am offering this at JUST over my cost.

elperuano 02-24-2014 05:28 PM

Yesssss sign me up!

phunk 02-24-2014 05:32 PM

One more!

phunk 02-24-2014 09:47 PM

Are you still in for rods if someone else comes in and we get the better price?

Ron 02-24-2014 10:04 PM

Yes sir.

elperuano 02-25-2014 04:39 PM

Cmon 1 more guys! This is a great deal for quality products!

phunk 02-27-2014 01:14 PM

OK well since we didnt get enough people for the better price on the CP/Carrillo stuff, I have contacted Pauter about rods. A set of Pauter rods is going on 10 years in my old 350z build and I trust them. They are regarded as a very strong and high quality rod.

I have not made the final decision yet, but its pretty likely I will switch over to Pauter for my rods. If anyone else wanted Pauter rods, they are $400 less than the Carrillo at $1325.

Didn't know the offered Rods for our cars is this custom sets that there making for you ?

phunk 03-04-2014 05:14 PM

From what I understand, almost all their rods are custom minus the real popular applications that they stock.

But yes, they would have to be built, they dont stock a VHR rod.

dirTy_shoeZ 04-24-2014 11:17 PM

Is this still available to get in on?

phunk 04-25-2014 12:24 PM

The group buy was canceled because there were not enough buyers. Only 2 sets of pistons were purchased, mine and elperuano's. We had to pay standard pricing.

I can order more of the same design any time, I have all the specs saved.

Im in!!

ugg, this was just a bit sooner then i was ready.

phunk 05-13-2014 07:05 PM

Oh well! Nobody got the killer price anyway because there wasnt enough of us.

I would be open to trying to get this going again if we have enough people.

Otherwise... I technically have a set in stock. Since I still have not made any moves forward on my engine build, I can afford the time to just order another set for my car. I would just have to call in and double check the single set pricing.
