Default Pardon my ignorance

Pardon my ignorance, but having a turbo so close to the ground, would it be affected by water/rain? I understood that if cold water is splashed onto a hot metal that can cause it to crack. I know (at least I think) the housing is made of cast iron so when the car is driven when raining, what can possibly happen to the metal?

Never heard of a housing cracking, and there is over 100 of these kits out there. That would be the last thing on my mind to be honest.

I think with the airflow under the car,it would keep the turbo cooler as opposed to having it in the engine bay,no?

Boosted would I be correct to say the compressors are not being most efficient at sub 10 psi boost pressures?

It seems like larger compressors would be more efficient for low boost high flow situations.

The system looks beautiful, but my bayou streets scare me when I see a turbo that low to the ground.

Water =BOOM

I live in Houston and had the same concerns. After having the kit I've had no issues. The air filter sits above the subframe so you'd have to dive thru over 6" of water to have any concern. That much water will carry your car away.
